i think the wiring part is the most problematic one.. especially cable management. I had some troubles back then. The rest are like 123, plug & play.

well yes cable management might be the problematic, but if u only have a gpu and a ssd nothing much of a concern :D

Wow thats cool! I'm thinking of using NZXT 440 Razer case though, the theme seems nice. or are there any other cases there are more worth it and aesthetically pleasing?

Explore your options. Take your time. There are many great cases out there to suit different needs and theme. On YouTube, there are so many PC Build guides for every budget. Find one that you like and follow their specs.

Cases from Phanteks are good as well.
Coolermaster has a few good cases that are easy for beginners. They also have cases that are super customisable and modular, allowing you to unleach your creativity in building your rig in just how you want it.

If you want inspiration, check out this YouTube Channel, TechSource. He has a Setup Wars section that showcases some of the best PC setups submitted by viewers and he also have a PC Builds section that showcases some interesting builds of various budgets.

ok! i'll look around, probably won't blow out so much on a case since it's my first build. Though some cases seems like you can't read disc. :s13: like the H400, doesn't seem to see it anywhere

How about powering up and install windows after the challenge of connecting cables at the right place? Juz put windows thumbdrive then follow on screen instruction? Need to find driver for each peripheral or after windows installed, all drivers would be auto installed by windows too?

you can install the Windows 10 first. Drivers can install later. Usually Windows can detect new hardware installed. Whatever peripheral you installed, there will always be manuals and quick instructions that tells you the link to install the drivers.

This was what happened to me. My first SSD arrived since I ordered online. As soon as I got that, I installed windows 10. Graphics card, second SSD came later. So after that, I just continue my build lor. But it's a very glorious feeling if you computer starts normally for the first time after building your PC. You know youve done everything right.

Optical disc trays are not very common nowadays. If you really need one, just get a usb connected portable slim disc drive. Stow it away when not in use, because 95% of the time you wont need it.

ok! Currently still learning what all the RAM, CPU goes. What are the things people usually upgrade? Graphics card?

Upgrades really depends on your budget thou, if no budget can just change everything to a new PC. If have budget can only upgrade a few stuff. Yes GPU is the most common ones. Next will be adding a bigger size ssd or bigger size HDD. Maybe a few will add sound card, change keyboard mouse and change speaker.

well HDD is still quite cheap and due to the big size it has so i would say yes unless u have NAS den up to u.

Well if u are only for gaming and depends on the number games and game size i would say SSD is more than enough. but its still quite costly to buy a bigger size SSD. yet the price per GB is definitely cheaper than those lower size.

lastly this is not true. a SSD/HDD is more than enough to make a pc function.

I'd say after 2-3yrs of usage, 500GB on SSDs will be used up. Its always good to have option for expansion on the case if that happens. An additional SSD try or HDD bay is very helpful in this regard. Getting an additional 2TB HDD yields a long way, but its not an immediate purchase. 2TB costs <$120 nowdays.

If you changing MB u need to get a new windows OS keys.

As for power will be GPU. For e.g a GTX 1080 with a 300w will be quite hard for it. As you will need to included the factors for motherboard and other devices as well.

All in all depends on your planning, if u planning to upgrade your GPU but power not enough, u might end up purcashing PSU as well.

So ya, plan well think ahead if you on a budget upgrades.

Cheers :D

Is it advisable to get a decent MB & CPU first? Cause i have this view that MB & CPU are the most troublesome when you want to change compared to the fans, PSU, GPU.

they are the msot troublesome but they are also the most expensive components (imo) to purchase. Just get what you need (i.e. i5 or i7, k or non-k version) and the mobo get something that suit your wants (i.e. size of case, ITX, ATX, SFF, single GPU, dual GPU, small GPU, fat GPU).

There are alot of customizations, so you need to know what the pc is used for, or what you want it to be. I cant tell u that ATX board is the best if all you want to build is a ITX case, and be placed on your computer table, or telling you gtx1080 FE is the best, but all you can afford is a $299 1060 or $250 960. Too many factors for us to advise, but you need to understand your own limitations (i.e. money/budget, space constraints, usage constraints)

if your budget for PC is below $1k, or you do not wish to increase your budget, its better to not perform upgrades and get components that are most durable (e.g. gigabyte) and with longest warranty (e.g. zotac). Note i am not promoter for any of these brands. Even if your budget is $2k, the above rules apply. Because by upgrading ur PC, it will cost anywhere between $200-$1k to change components and it may not suit everyone.
