Dear all (the expert here),

my existing PC is about 5 years old, time to built a new one..lol
My usage is to watch movies, surf net and play PC games like Diablo and etc. Abit lost touch with the hardware sence....
Budget wise around $2000 or less, not include monitor or keyboard.

Not Planning to over clock..

What i have in mind and my requirement:

ATX casing: CM Storm Scout 2 (able to fit GTX 970?)

OS: still prefer Win 7, going for the 64Bit

Mother Board:any recommendation? think ASUS brand is not bad , for the CPU, 4460 or 4590 or 4690 is better?

Cooler: Cooler Master Vortex 211P (not using the stock cooler for better cooling)

Graphic Card: GTX 970 , brand wise any recommendation?

Sound Card: (optional, still deciding)

Internal HDD: WD Green 4TB or 6TB ~ $$202-$338

SSD : prefer 128gb or 256gb , any recommendation?

Memory: standard now is 16 Gb right? G-Skill RipJaw? DDR3 or DDR4 better?

Power supply: any recommendation?

Internal drive: Blu ray drive , is it advisable to get a blu ray drive? Heard that you need to purchase certain license in order to play blu ray movies.

Any advise / recommendations base on my require spec?:D

Win 32 bit only support 4gb ram :s22:

Remaining 12GB can blanjah?

Anw i5 family differs mainly by clock and cache? For gaming 4460 sounds good for money.

If not going to oc stock would be sufficient. Don't think stock styled cooler would be any better. Casing can fit 970 for sure.

8gb for ram is sufficient, unless video editing. And haswell only supports ddr3. Get 64 bit is because 32bit only supports 4GB.

1) What other games do you have in mind? Your desired rig is crazy overkill for Diablo III. Odd choice of OS as well, not much people are using 32-bit OSes nowadays.

Also, state specs of your current rig.

2) You will need a Blu-Ray playback software to playback Blu-Rays using the Blu-Ray drive on your rig and these things do not come cheap. Would be cheaper to just get a Blu-Ray player instead and connect to monitor.

Or hook up a PS3 to the monitor and can play PS3 games also haha

i5-4460 + Asus h97 pro gamer ~ $454 (4460 or 4590 got much difference) i notice alot of them getting Asrock, is it a better brand?)

G.skill ripjaws 8gb ddr3 ~ $125 (not recommending DDR4? Tecnology too new?)

Lite on s900 250gb ssd ~ $149 (never heard of Lite on, how is it compare to brand like Corsair , Crucial, Plextor?)

Wd red 4tb ~ $234 ( isn't WD Green more suitable for normal PC usage? i not planning to do NAS..)

Msi gtx970 armor edition ~ $499 (Will ASUS GTX 970 be a better option?)

Seasonic X 650w ~ $175
Asus oem drive ~ $26

Fractal design arc midi r2 ~ $139 (casing i still prefer CM storm Scout 2, look nicer and with a handle, lol)

Win7 64 oem ~ $130
CM hyper 212 ~ $57

I am looking for quality matching with budget , if its not too expensive, i am ok..lol

$1988 buy and assemble @ pctheme ask for discount.

Asrock used to be under Asus

Ddr4 is too expensive and only supports by x99 board now

Lite on s900 is the same as Plextor m6s

Red is much better IMO , dun really like wd green drive

The gtx970 armor edition is good enough

Case wise up to u, to me the storm scout is too bulky

I'll recommend using Samsung EVO 850 or Intel SSD 530. A bit pricier but support and reliability better in my opinion. Liteon is a good brand that's been around and functionality-wise you'll only get slightly better performance from Samsung/Intel but Liteon dont manufacture their own chips.

HeadKiller from marketplace selling legit retail keys for about 40 bucks. you just need to make your own installation media using dvd or usb.

Why don't you just wait till next half of the year for next gen of CPU and GPUs? They will be streaming in very soon.... Rather than changing just to refresh your current setup.
