Ok so the other day I accidently switched off the power before the pc shut down properly, now I can't boot up my pc.

It won't even post, no beep sound, and after flashing the Gigabyte fanciful logo for like 0.1s, will go to a blue screen with the words "Gigabyte - UEFI DualBIOS" at the very top for a while, then will restart and go through the same sequence over and over again. Pressing DEL or F12 does nothing.

Any idea what could have gone wrong?

Or any decent and honest repair shop at SLS to recommend?

Damn sian... and thanks.

If clearing cmos or swiching off main power and press power on button for 10 seconds does not work.
Maybe hardware faulty.

Ok clearing cmos via jumper/removing battery/press power button for 10s doesn't work, still the same thing. Guess I'll have to lug the heavy thing down to sls.

Ok.... Please recommend CPU/Mobo/Ram.

I mostly go for those value for money current sweet spot pricewise CPU.
Mobo and ram also the same, no need the best with everything included, something mid range will do. Basically I just need to connect my gtx1060, 1 ssd and 1 hdd, ethernet (no need WiFi), but some future proofing would be good.

PC mainly use for surfing net, and some gaming. The most hardware intensive games that I played are the Witcher series, and games like Plague Tale: Innocence or similar. No FPS.

Cheers.

Hi, can i ask how long did Nigel took to troubleshoot the issue? Found this morning that my desktop is unresponsive, no power to motherboard at all. Thanks.

He asked me to come back in 45 minutes. I did, and he was already done.

Ok after some research, I have narrowed down to
Intel 11400F
Gigabyte B560M Aorus Pro (wanted to get the DS3H but read about the TDP limit thingy)
Cosair Veng LPX 3200 CL16 (G Skills Flare X seems to be cheaper tho)

Any comments? Violent objections?

u clearly dont know what ur talking about or what ts is looking for.
11400f + b560m aorus pro is a pretty good value combo if overclocking is not a must. ram u can also usually skimp if not planning to tighten timings as much as possible either, so if the flare x kit has the same xmp timings as the vengeance lpx, then just get the cheaper one.

This is good enough, Flare X I won't recommend heard the performance isn't good.
Go for Corsair vengeance.

Ok installed a new mobo/cpu/ram. Working well, thanks all.

Interesting thing is I dun even have to reinstall windows. Managed to boot from the previous boot drive on first try.
Only LAN and a few other stuff are not working, so I manually install the LAN driver, connect to the internet, then use windows update to clear all the unknowns from device manager. Windows also auto-activated via digital license.

Recommend to do a clean install for better performance as well as prevent any BSOD/Crash due to
either driver conflict etc.
For the time being if it works you can leave it be but in my experience you will not know when it will start to crash.

If you wish to reinstall Windows, do backup any data.
PS Reinstall Windows is not Windows reset, many confuse both reset and reinstall as the same
which they are not.

Yup I have already prepared an installation usb, just a bit lazy now ... loath to reinstall all my games and programs and drivers and reconfigure all the windows settings :(

I normally do a clean installation every year or two.
