PC Can’t start up

Hi, recently wanted to give my rig to my sibling so I tokk kut my gpu and changed my 2 HDDs for her 2 old ones. But my SSD which contains the OS still remained in the com.

Now start up the com it shows “msi auto repair” then it blacked out showing a blanksscreen with the cursor and didnt start up so aft some time i restarted the com. Now it’s just stuck on msi boot up loading screen. What shld i do? Are the old HDDs corrupt? ( HDDs were from an old com that broke down )

well there is a few ways u can try b4 determine whats the issues.

check the debug code on the monitor of msi or check your motherboard led or its code see whats the error, look up ion the manual or online forum.

unplug your hdd to see if your system is showing please insert a hdd.

Why not give full clean installation of the OS a try?

If you plug in the two original HDDs, does the system work?

You should to plug in the original HDDs in order for the boot file to be read. Obviously, failing to disconnect secondary HDDs during Windows install and boot info is updated in old HDD instead of creating new on SSD.

The system works with the old HDDs. but shouldnt it work without the HDDs as I installed windows on my SSD?

Howwould i go about changing the hdds then as I want to bring my new HDDs to a new rig while bringing the old HDDs to this one

During windows setup, the system will look for MBR files reside in connected drives, even if not the intended drive (SSD). That means if a connected HDD has MBR file, setup will update that file instead of creating a new one on the SSD. Once you remove that HDD with the MBR file, your system can't boot.

To overcome this, insert your installation thumb drive or disc to do a repair.
