Hi guys.

My self-built PC is at about one year old. About three months ago, my PC would constantly crash while playing Dota 2. Initially, my PC would crash once per 40min+ game. But it slowly became twice, thrice in one single game. The crashing would eventually happen even when I am not playing i.e. casually surfing the net.

I requested on-site support from the guy who built my PC. He ran stress tests and various other tests on the following hardware.

1. GPU max temp - no issues
2. RAM - no issues
3. HDD & SSD - no issues (swapped my other PC's SSD to my current set-up, crash happened as well so it's not a HDD/SSD problem)
4. Wiped my entire system and clean installed Win 10.

Suspecting that it might a MOBO issue, I brought my entire set-up to the Gigabyte distro. I sat with the tech guy for close to three hours while he ran tests on my PC as well as an hour plus of 4K video streaming on YouTube. Surprisingly, it did not crash.

So I went home again and did the following.

1. Changed soapbar and set up my PC in a different room at home
2. Tested my PC with another set of external hardware - mouse, keyboard, speakers & monitors - still crashed
3. Tested my old PC with my current set of external hardware at the original position using the original soapbar - old PC DID NOT crash

I have tried everything possible. I really do not know what I can do next ...

Anybody can advise? :( This is my set-up.

MOBO: i5-6500 Gigabyte b150m-d3h
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
SSD: ZOTAC 240gb Premium Edition
GPU: ZOTAC GeFroce GTX 970 4GB
RAM: 2 x 8GB Kingston HyperX Fury ddr4
PSU: 550w Superflower Leadex Platinum
Cooling: Deepcool Gammax 400

Thanks in advance.

Noted on the PSU testing. I'll need to dis assemble both PSUs and do a cross test. Hope I don't screw things up
