PC crashes with 2 rams

Hi all, my PC is around 10 months old now. Haven't had any issues until the recent 2 months. Crashing randomly especially when I'm playing Dota 2, maybe twice a day.

PC stops crashing when I'm using only 1 ram stick. Anyone encountered this before?

do a memtest on your rams to confirm.

if faulty can to email them invoice,screenshots and etc.

i just rma mine last week only.

If you say the machine crashes when you put in 2 sticks but is stable on a single stick there are a few things to try: -

1. Try the other stick on its own to narrow down that the issue is on 1 of the sticks
2. The motherboard has 4 slots so if its crashing on 1 of the pairs say 1 & 3 then try slots 2 & 4 to narrow down if its an issue with the motherboard slot or not.
3. If you have another pair of RAM sticks try those to confirm that it works well on other RAM

Also take note when you do insert the sticks that they align well and go all the way in. A slight miss-align can cause your symptoms.

These steps should help to identify which is the faulty part. Once you can confirm that there is one of the sticks or motherboard that's faulty go n RMA

Might be ram speed issue. Go BIOS and reduce the clock speed. Or bios version

just did memtest and it passed 100%

i tried 1 and 2..issue occurs only when there's 2 rams used. when only using 1 piece (regardless which piece) no crash for 1 week of testing. do not have extra rams to try though..

Yes last test would be to see the RAM settings in the BIOS but if nothing has changed there then unlikely as you said the PC ran ok for 8 months.

Question: Did you upgrade the BIOS recently?

nope, didn't do any updates or made any changes at all

Sounds like a motherboard RMA is on the cards

okay, still crashed after reducing clock speed. shall try updating the bios... don't seem to have any other solutions before i send it in
