Could do better IMO

CPU and mobo a little overkill, could be cheaper
RAM just get normal one, cheaper
PSU rather get Seasonic or Superflower

Here is my suggestion
i5-6500 + MSI B150M Bazooka @434
1x8GB Kingston DDR4-2133 @58
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB @139
WD Blue 1TB @77
Samsung DVD Drive @25
Sapphire R9 390 Tri-X @540
Seasonic M12-II 620W @115
Corsair 100R @85
Total 1473

Prices from PC themes

Asus Z170- PRO Gaming (6600, 3.3GHz) is the price killer for your rig..
go for MSI b150M Mortar + i5-6500 @449

Thanks everyone for your advice!

Was sourcing at PC Themes since Fuwell doesn't carry Zotac or Superflower PSU on their list. Seems like Superflower Gold is not in stock at PC Themes either.. But anyway, here's the new setup:

Only concern is if the m-atx board can fit my old Asus Sonar DX as well and if the PSU can support another 2 more HDDs.

Total $1,471.00
MSI B150M Bazooka (i5 6500) 434
Zotac GTX 970 4GB 469
Kingston 2133Mhz 8GB X 2 116
Asus 24X DvD-Writer SATA $25.00
Superflower 650W Platinum $169.00
Samsung 850 EVO (250GB) $139.00
CoolerMaster N600 casing $119.00

Ok lah. Platinum PSU for better efficiency. At least he knows he's getting something solid. Solid brand with solid efficiency.
