PC for graphics work

Hi gurus, wanna do up a new PC for graphics work using after effects, 3ds Max and other adobe softwares. Here's what i have done up currently. Any alternatives to the parts to save money since budgeting but dun wan to compromise on performance since I'm working with it? TIA!

Corsair H100i V2 = 185
Seagate 2TB 7200rpm = 95
Crucial MX500 500GB= 238

Personal opinion, you don't really need the water cooling since u are running locked i7 and not over clocking. Imo the stock cooler will do just fine already. So that's 185 dollars off the bill.
If I were you I would also look at Newegg for my rams as able to easily get 16gb ram for 22X sgd shipping included. Only down side is warranty is non-existent.

1. No need for a high end 1080. Not all filters and effects can use the GPU, and rarely will it be a noticeable difference.

2. Windows 10 Pro can get from Carusell, it's cheaper

3. Get a faster M.2 nVME instead of the slow Crucial SSD.

4. No need 750w, even 600 is more than enough

5. Why Asus ROG strix? That's a gaming motherboard meant for overclocking. No need for you

6. Why spend extra $$ on a tempered glass RGB casing when your main use case is work?

7. If you're only getting slow 2400MHz RAM, get Kingston ValuRam instead of more expensive ones.

You can also look at PC Themes price list, which should be slightly cheaper.

If you are going to have the shop assemble for you, then you can buy everything at one place. If you can assemble yourself, you will be able to find better deals buying from different shops.

Forget the stock Intel cooler. It will work if you push the fan to high speed, increasing the noise level. Makes more sense to buy a third party cooler. Even a cheap Cooler Master 212 evo will perform much better than stock.

For HDD, you should consider HGST as it has the best rep for reliability.

The price difference between budget DDR4-2400 and decent DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3000 is not much. You might want to consider better RAM.

You might want to start by deciding what kind of form factor - ITX, mATX or ATX. It affects the choices for the other components.

the clock speeds for ram makes negligible difference. ddr4-2400 vs ddr4-3200 not much difference. unless budget isn't a concern. the price difference between those 2 can be up to ~$60 the last i checked.

you don't need high end graphics, you can get nvidia quadro cards which is good enough for graphics workstation.

since you are doing quite intensive graphics work and likely to spend enormous time staring at the monitor.

do give some thought on getting a good nice sharp monitor.
not good in this as im happy w normal IPS.

you might want to consider getting ultrasharp dell monitors.
or others might want to recommend.

my office got a row of RnD guys who spent all the time staring at monitors drawing CADs....their monitors are really top end stuff.

Hi all, now i'm deciding between intel and amd for my next com. Something i wan to ask since i come across that ryzen doesnt have integrated graphics option as compared to intel i7 8700. so if my graphics card go kaput with no visuals and i purchase a new graphics card, will i still be able to boot into windows connecting to the onboard hdmi on a ryzen system to uninstall the old drivers? or i need to either borrow/buy a graphic card so that i can do that. I believe for intel system, i can just connect to the motherboard display ports and i can still access windows. TIA

No integrated GPU means if your existing GPU kaput, you need to borrow 1 or buy a new 1 to get your com to show up on your display. Drivers can delete later. Put in a spare or new gpu for it to work first.

Ryzen, especially 2600X, pretty value for money for a multi threaded 6 cores CPU.

Thks all, just one last question, since GTX 1080 Ti comes with 2 hdmi ports usually but the RTX 2080 only have one and 3 other displayports, and since i uses ryzen, means i have to buy a displayport to HDMI if i uses a RTX 2080 right? if my 2 monitors only uses HDMI

Not all models are the same, for example my evga 1080ti sc black edition has
3x Display port
1x HDMI
1x DVI

I'm looking at MSI versions of 1080 ti and 2080 though. so back to my question, i will need a adaptor right since the motherboard hdmi port will not work due to ryzen??
