Logitech Z407 or Edifier R1280DBS.
You can choose either these twos.
Logitech Z407 will be better for games and movies since it got a subwoofer

You can go Challneger Bugis main outlet to test.
I won't say anything about Katana cuz I tested before is not my taste.
Maybe it suits your ear but not mine.

When it comes to katana.. the word worth doesn't exist... its pretty gimmicky to me.. you get better sound from real speakers at that price.

initially got this edifier. too bulky and sound not as satisfying as its replacement logitech g560 on my desk.
would recommend z407 for the smaller footprint on desk and also slimmer cables.

True I used to have it, 2.0 bookshelve speaker are not only big but lack the "boom" since
it doesn't have sub.
I never try the G560 before but I don't think I will cuz the speaker before Z407 was Z623/Z625.

Z623/Z625 by now should be obsolete, it have very strong and deep bass but
the mid-range is muddy.

Recommend you Edifier R1850db, been using this for like 3 years. This speaker gives you the clarity that cheaper speakers don't have.

I listened to R1280 recently and found that there is really a difference in quality so since R1850db is within your budget I would say go for that.

Another tip is if on desktop, I recommend doing a bass frequency test (<200hz) as well, then using equalizer to fix those peaks and dips, dont bother with those bass/treble knobs on the back

Your edifiers will up 1 more level
