Hi all

Time to build a new pc
Mainly to do photo editing with Lightroom/Photoshop as my ultrabook keeps crawling. Monitor not required.

Need some advice with the following build on
- what else to add or change for a better build/save money
-

Budget 1000 (Stretchable)

Asus H110iPlus M-ITX + i5 6600 = 450
Samsung EVO 850 250gb = 129
Hitachi 1 TB 2.5" Drive = 85
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2133mHz 16GB = 109
Coolermaster Elite 110 = 69
Andyson AG-Series 550W 80+ = 89
CM Seidon 120V = 88

Any suggestions if a GFX is indeed required? I still have a radeon 4850 sitting around at home that i was thinking of using if required

Comments are welcome! Havent built a PC in a long time since using laptops for school

Need any of these within the budget?

Windows
Monitor
Speaker
Keyboard
Mouse
WiFi adapter

Placing PC on table or floor?
Any physical dimension constraint at your PC holding area?

Will your monitor screen position be facing any bright light source like window?

Which internet provider plan and router are you using?
Is your home in a relatively new apartment built in the past 8 years?
How far is your upcoming PC located from the router?
Any obstruction between your PC and router?

Need to decide on the outer aesthetics first i.e. casing. Plenty of brands out there.

By the way, what happen to the Shuttle brand? Too bad Creative stop the Slix series.

My only suggestion - get a Nvidia GPU so that you can enable GPU acceleration for your Adobe CC programs. :)

Thanks for all the inputs guys!

No need to budget for the accesories
Monitor already have
Windows seperately purchase - suggestions would be good

Which SSD to get is one of the questions
Really need GPU for LR? Nvidia if so budget 100-200 for GPU would it make a difference from on board? - in my mind it would

That video makes thing looks so different, but then the results looks skewed... Like since dual xeon cpu which has no igpu, what would be handling the graphics output? :s11:
Unless of course LR use gpu for the exports then that makes sense.

Hmmm? The GPU is only used for acceleration purposes...if don't have then will just fall back to the traditional method of using CPU lor. Just that GPUs have better compute abilities compared to CPUs (e.g. why people use GPU for folding/mining instead of CPU).
