PC Poweroff Unexpectedly

This few days, my PC will just suddenly poweroff unexpectedly. The power-on is still lighted on my chasis but the MB/fans/PSU everything is off. Cant power on until i pull the plug off my powerstrip and wait for a few sec until the power-on light is gone.

THen when i boot up, it goes to bios saying fail to boot. But i dun change anything and it will boot up as per normal on 2nd attempt.

PSU/GPU (heatpipe) cool to touch, CPU heatsink warm but not hot.

So is my psu dying? Its a thermaltake toughpower grand RGB 750.

Specs :
AMD Ryzen 1700
Gigabyte AB350 gaming 3
MSI Armor rx580

Try using another powerstrip or directly into main socket and see if it helps.

Also, did you really touch the psu internals or just the outer case??

Sounds like a PSU issue.. try connecting directly to the power outlet, no extension. hope it helps~

how long were you using before it cuts power? if possible go into bios and check your temps and the voltages..

Oh I try using another strip tonight. THo my other stuffs like TV/Soundbar/4Bay HDD enclosure runs on the same strip too.

I touch the psu outer case (dare not touch the internals )

My PC is "perpetually" on 24/7 other than an occasional shutdown.

I just set my monitoring softwares like CPU/GPUZ to log the temps so will check tonight.

If connecting to mains and still the same issue, most likely PSU issue liao since cpu fan dun even spin.

try not to overload the main.. i experienced a similar encounter and putting it to main, it solved the issue~

My main only got one socket so i might need to pull another strip across the room.

Test by connecting PC only to mains. If no issues, means that powerstrip is failing. Change to another to test out.

Bought a new Belkin Surgeplus to replace the strip. Same thing happened during the nite (when i was sleeping). checked logs and its not a temp issue.

This morning left it running in bios mode with just the PC and the external HDD enclosure (3HDD) running. Unplugged the TV n soundbar.

Will borrow a psu over the weekend to try it out too. Heng my psu got 10yrs warranty (thermaltake) but its a hassle to go trhu all these pffftttt....

On fri nite, installed new radeon drivers (just 1 version newer). Left it on and the poweroff didnt happen when i woke up the next day. But in the midst of playing Football Mgr on sat (thinking all is good), it happen again.

Then did a GPU stress test on furmark for more than an hr as well as PSu test on OCCT and nothing happen. Max temp on CPU is less than 60, GPU at 75 max.

So now dunno wats the problem liao..... -_-
(prob will still try to get a spare psu to try).
