PC powers up but shuts down.

Good Evening,

I built a video edit/gaming rig for myself sometime ago using youtube and the manuals as a guide. The problem i keep having from time to time is;

1) PC powers up, no signal to monitor, fans are running but then it shuts down and it will restart by itself and it will cycle the same way if I dont off the plug.
2) I've tried looking up Google and there are tons of ways which I have tried including reseating my cables and removing the non essential hardware to see which is the problem but I have not gotten a satisfactory result. If I want to shift the CPU, I have to do it like holding a bomb because I might trigger it to shut off again.

I said time to time because I've fixed it a few times but now I'm stuck coz the ways I tried previously don't work anymore(on my laptop for now).

Hope an experienced builder here can help pinpoint my problem.

Mobo: MSI X99
Graphics: Zotac 970
PSU: Seasonic 750 Bronze
HDD: Samsung 840 SSD and WD green
Cooler: Corsair H110i

tried to test your ram 1 by 1 and every ram in every slots? and have you tested with some spare parts?

I don't have spare parts to test with. All the parts are 1st hand when installed and they are about 2 years old now.. my last resort is to dismantle the whole rig and do it back which is damn leceh. I'm trying to avoid sending to shop coz scared kena con coz I still noob. but if all else fails then I have to go.

RAM is DDR4 16gb/4 slot G SKill
OS: Win 10

I have not coz previous times were cable/connectors related so I wasnt expecting gfx is the problem. Ill keep your option in mind.

Maybe its your motherboard or your graphic card issue...have u try updating your motherboard bios to the latest version

Try remove everything, except ur CPU and RAM, then test. If ok then add parts one by one. U should be able to find the offending hardware this way

my recent experience was corrupted Bios. saw the same symptom as TS. Reboot loop all the way until I RMAed the mobo

It can be RAM, PSU, graphics card, cpu overheating or motherboard

Best way is get a friend who can test the parts on his computer.

To test RAM run memtest for a few hours and see if have error. Even 1 error can indicate faulty ram and cause your pc to shutdown.

If no problem then either PSU, gfx or motherboard.

To test graphics run some kind of stress test utility see if it shutdown.

Also check your cpu temperature to see if ok.

So if everything ok left PSU or motherboard. To test PSU can bring down to distributor.
If distro say ok, then RMA your motherboard.
