Hi all, my PC was working fine until recently it started restarting by itself...every time when it happened, there is a tick sound and it looks as though the psu got cut off.

It will start back up 1-2 sec and later turn off again...

If I turn off the mains for a long period of time, the system will be able to boot up and run for longer period of time until it happens again.

But the first time it happened, it reverted my xmp profile to normal.

I am suspecting the psu issue, but it was a pretty new unit comparing to other components...

Spec:
Gigabyte p34 ud3r-b3
Core i5 2500
8gb RAM(4x2gb)
Palit gtx970
SuperFlower leadex platinum 650w
1x Intel SSD
2x 2tb HDD

Try reseat your 24/8-pin power connectors at both ends.

Did you have any overcloaking setting?

Few reason i can think off is cpu overheated, PSU not enough power. The easiest way to test out is to borrow from ppl a higher wattage PSU to isolate the problem.

Thanks, will try reseat first. But will take some time as it doesn't happen immediately.

I only had xmp profile turned on and had been running fine for many months, this only happened recently. The BIOS had already reset and turned off xmp and now it is running at default. Yet it still happens:(

I had similar problem and the cause was faulty Seasonic PSU. Try testing your system with another PSU.
