PC randomly shutsdown

Hi guys,

My PC is experiencing random shutdowns.
In Windows Event Viewer, quite a few Event ID 41:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power
unexpectedly.


Means it's time to replace PSU~?
Currently using Seasonic M12IIBronze 620W.
What would be a good replacement for this~?

I used GPU-Z to monitor GPU temps, when the shutdown and reboot occur it's hovering at 70deg. Earlier while I was gaming it reached 70 degree too but no shutdown occur so don't think it's a prob.

Not sure what to use to monitor CPU temps, but I ran Real Temp GT using prime95 and it shows CPU temps went up to 90 odd degrees.
I let it stay there for 5 minutes but no shutdown occurred. 90 degrees seems pretty high though. Any thoughts~?

What are the system specs
Does this happen when you are playing games or doing something? Elaborate on that something
If playing game, WHAT game are you playing??

If high intensity game on a graphic card that can barely make it, reduce the graphic quality to see if that is the issue. If this is, you need a better graphic card

To quote a personal example. I used to play Mass Effect Andromeda with a GTX760 and faced random shutdown / high temps / bsod / freeze, any of which requires a hard reset. GPU temps were well into the 75-80c range. I replaced it with a GTX970 and it ran well.

Once you have confirmed it is NOT GPU issue,
Then in the following order, replace

PSU
Mobo
CPU

When I got random shutdown last time, it was caused by a faulty psu.... Corbell replaced it with a new one...

Can cook egg already at 90degrees.. not normal. Time to change thermal paste

Open all vram hsf and replace compound and thermal paste. No need to change

GPU just upgraded


I play Guild Wars 2, sometimes 5 minutes into the games will reboot, sometimes can play for more than 1 hour no problem. Sometimes when I exit the game PC will reboot. Other times just surfing the web will reboot, length of time can range from 5 min to maybe an hour. Can't really identify any pattern. I will proceed to replace the PSU and get another CPU cooler, read on other forums hitting 90deg C on prime 95 is not normal.

Do u have any recommendations for PSU and cooler~?

MOTHERBOARD / MEMORY

Easier to replace memory first ( FRESH STICKS FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER ), not the same sticks...

You don't need alot. Just roll with 2 / 4 and see if problem occurs

To confirm PSU problem, just take out the GPu and use Integrated Graphics if possible, If no random crash then is PSU
If still got random crash then MOBO

Usually 5 yr old stuff, capacitors tend to go wonky...

PSU shows this when using PSU tester, earlier in the morn still can log in to.Windows but now cannot even boot up
