PC recommendation for 3D modelling

Hi gurus, helping out a friend to source for either parts or a full desktop PC (including k/b and monitor), budget of ~2k.

Will be using it for:
- 3D modelling & simulation
- General productivity/leisure (Word, Youtube, etc)
- Maplestory (my friend is not a gamer)

Would like to ask for any part/desktop recommendations that would meet these needs, and if should consider buying from upcoming IT show -- my friend values warranty in case it breaks down suddenly.

Look at Aftershock/Dreamcore for the rig, get an i7 with at least 16gb ram (32 or higher is preferable), a basic GPU like GTX 1050 (or TI-variant) will do good, 250GB SSD with 1TB HDD.

Monitor can hunt from IT show, like a Dell S2316H (if still selling) or Dell S2318H, HP 23es, LG 24MP48HQ, any of these. It IPS 1080p 60Hz basic monitor.

Lastly, peripheral of your own choice.

Get a Ryzen 7 from Dreamcore or aftershock. Will there be rendering involved?

Guess you can get Ryzen for rendering work. Give AMD a shot, otherwise next time we all could be end up buy celeron for USD 999

Different software different usage of pc parts. Most 3d softwares are not optimised with ryzen yet. And how well the software uses multi cores.

3d studio max will experience some freezing with ryzen. Autocad Intel is smoother due to faster core speed.

Yea man exactly, has a lot of bug using ryzen to render in blender, have to switch to gpu render....

But modeling usually are fine.

1. Simulation the more ram the better, 32GB at least. Ideally 64GB and above.
2. GPUs, I think most modern renderers can use GPU to render, of cos the more cores the better. But given the bloody high price of GPUs, maybe a 1060 3GB or 6GB will do.
3. CPU at least i7 or comparable. Might take some time for companies to optimise for Ryzen.

Take into consideration a decent case with ideal cooling too.

You might consider engaging companies like Dreamcore, Mansa, PCKaki, etc to give u a quote on your requirements. Save you the time of building (unless you enjoy this).

Huh?? Ryzen has a problem with Blender? Blender was the demo they used at the pre launch back in like end 2016 or early 2017

different version and different model, there was one ver was really fcked up.... error all day.
also sometimes i switch to radeon pro render blender plugin for rendering, a lot of problem with cpu render too, switched to gpu render all working fine.
