PC Speakers suggestions?

So my Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers decided to have its farewell cigar yesterday (it literally started smoking).... So its time to get new speakers but I'm just not sure which one would be really worth now.

I'm considering the following:
- Razer Leviathan
- Creative Katana
- Logitech Z625
- Klipsch Promedia 2.1 (considering this as well since I was pretty happy with my first set)

My main function would be primarily gaming. Music would come in second. Movies and TV series not so much. Price wise I'm generally flexible as long as it doesn't go way over the price of the Katana (I think its the most exp of the bunch listed above). I'm quite interested in the soundbar ones because its something different to all the speakers I've used before and also because space wise, its quite appealing (I have a 2 monitor setup).

However, I'm hoping to look at things objectively so if anybody has used the above speakers before and can give their thoughts and recommendations would be great.

Gigaworks T3? Mine is >10 years, still refuse to die.

My old Klipsch lasted just over 4 years if I recall correctly. Prior to that, I was using Creative's Gigaworks T3. That one lasted slightly longer but I never got used to its volume adjuster.

Well so far we already have reports of Katana breaking, considering this speaker is launched in early 2017...

Personally handled a Leviathan with a spoilt power adapter...

At least Promedia's failmodes are usually pretty epic like blown amplifier or blown internal power supply or rotted subwoofer surround which are rare and/or takes a long time to occur.

T3's failmode... You know the major failmode already. A lesser but still well known failmode is the power supply relay.

I just changed from T3 to Klipsch Promedia 2.1 after the previous speakers’ controller became faulty after 7 years.

Having used the Klipsch Promedia for weeks, I’m pretty delighted with my choice. Sound quality is better than the T3 and also has got the convenience of Bluetooth. Will highly recommend this daily and gaming needs.

Sonos Play 5 one alone will almost double my acceptable budget sia...

Probably leaning back towards Promedia at this point. The Aego M3 does look interesting though. Techshow currently has the Promedia and Z625 on offer. But I'm not in a big rush (can survive using my headphones first) and can wait till Black Friday or a little later.

Actually yes... my Cousin was trying out my speakers and he went back to his room upstairs. He forgot that he was still on my speakers and was wondering why his BT headphones were so soft. That’s the only con I can think of but I believe pple won’t anyhow connect to strangers’ devices intentionally? Haha..

Then use the remaining $$$ buy a good Headset.

Gaming wise, Headset > Speakers

Yup, for pure gaming it’s definitely more worthwhile to invest in a good headset since you don’t care as much for other purposes like movies or music.

I do own a headset already (Razer Kraken, one of the earliest generation models though, bought it a long time ago). I do use it now and then but I wear glasses and wearing headset for long period tends to get a little uncomfortable for me.

Avoid leviathan at all cost. It will turn off automatically after 15mins or so if there's no sound playing from the speaker. Go for katana if u really want a soundbar.

Got firmware update to fix that.

how can one withstand headset for a long time sia. ear will pain and hot. prefer speaker.

my swanspeaker m10 have alot of noise / like soft indian radio chatter behind. thinking to change to..something minimalist for my new room / setup

Thats bcos your speakers too near power cables.

so how? move speaker far away? or speaker cable? or speaker power cable?
