State budget and purpose here. People here config for u better.

Also, why is bf3 such an important benchmark to u? bf4 is coming out soon. U should build ur specs targeting to suffice bf4.

spec 1 is already the specs recommended from the forum ppl here. My bro has been buying from Bliss since long time ago and he has pretty much decent experience there and me getting the comp specs from pc theme is really 1st time and i got no experience from their s tore. Therefore he suggested to me to get the package computer there but 1 thing is :

1)The package deal (spec 2) isnt as great as spec 1. Spec 1 is better.
2)I need to ask them what brand of PSU , ram are they getting me in the package since they didnt specify.

My purpose is to play the latest game and budget is below $1.15k. I can get another window 7 by going with spec 1 and budget is still within $1.15k.

Spec 2 still seem to me to be very pricy after buying window 7 64 bit and i dont even know what brand of PSU & ram they are getting me.

All the specs specify in spec 1 are compatible with each other and available for upgrade and expansion right? My bro seems to think that i did not do my research and ask around since i am really a computer noob.

AND 1 IMPORTANT QUESTION :

Any monitor of any size can reach resolution up to 1920 x 1080 if you have a graphic card? Is it the graphic card capabilities that determine how much the resolution can go or the size of the monitor?

It appears that my monitor can go up to 1024x768. Am i under utilising powercolor 7850?

Spec 1: U no need Hard disk? maybe take out SSD and get HDD instead.
I also recommend u spend a bit more and get a better GPU instead of 7850. Since u want to be assured u can play the latest game. What is your monitor screen size? screen resolution?

I do not trust the second package. No brand for hard drive or PSU. I personally do not buy Cooler Master PSUs, especially those that come as part of their chassis.

The first package looks ok but note that there is no mechanical drive included, only one SSD. To check the prices, download the PCThemes price list from the downloads section.

There is nothing wrong with the optical drive. It will read all DVD types.


Disclaimer: PCThemes is one of the shops that I trust in and frequent.

Ok, if you want to keep within such a budget, suggest that you get a lower wattage PSU, 500W to 550W, no need modular (Seasonic S12II 520W or a Super Flower Amazon 550W Bronze). You don't need a 620W anyway for a i5-3450 + 7850. This will save some cash for the GPU. Cut the SSD down to a Hitachi Deskstar 1TB for more money to dump into GPU. Bump the GPU to a 7870 or 7950.

Otherwise, save up more money. Would be a better choice, IMO.

usually the procedure is state budget, state purpose of usage and state whether u need windows/keyboard/monitor/mouse. no need to do much research coz folks here will config for u. the Hard part is when u go to the shop with the list we provide here, the shop people will suggest alternatives to u by saying the parts u want is out of stock etc. that is when ur research comes in as u need to determine if they are shortchanging u or not.

Graphic card model X can do Y amount of calculations. The Y calculations is fixed unless you overclock. If you have a monitor with resolution A times B, you get say C fps for that given graphic card X. If you increase your resolution, your fps will drop below C. Same case if you turn up graphic settings in your game.

You think you'd use this 1280x1024 monitor for how long? How old is it? Then consider how you will be using this computer. Plan ahead.

guys , i am ok to add in ssd 256 gb plextor M5P for $289 together with my seagate 160 GB HDD. <<Do you think the ssd is really necessary?>> I research on it and it is just more responsive computer with fast load time and boot time.

*On a side note, i used my new hard disk on my faulty old comp to fix it by installing window 7 into it but it failed halfway with error code. <<Is the window 7 still installed into this HDD? No right?>>*

How much of a hassle is it to re-install windows to an ssd after having it on a hdd? Is it fairly simple to do?

The SSD is just a very fast hard drive. Typical usage is that of serving as boot drive, as well as for installing frequently used programs. This is to speed up boot time, as well as program launch times. Put your media (pictures, songs, movies, documents, etc) in your mechanical drive for bulk storage.

Note that some discourage the placement of the windows cache in the SSD, due to excessive read and writes. This may be considered by some as an outdated practice. YMMV.

Again, just treat your SSD as a very fast hard drive.
