hi folks

im getting a pre build pc package from tradepac and i am wondering if they would charge me for assembly.
will they give further discount if i bargain given that it is a package price?

another question is do they have a disc or usb drive to help install os if i only have the key bought from reddit?

You can't expect good service from Tradepac. It is a buy and forget shop. You need Fortan instead.

Why not consider DIY? If you buy pre-built from tradepac, I don't think they will troubleshoot for you if you encounter problems later.

Maybe list down your needs here and the guys here can suggest a build specific to your needs?

Assembly is already included if you buy a complete set. How TradePac defines what a complete set is you better check. Think minimum must include:

1. Casing
2. PSU
3. CPU
4. Motherboard
5. RAM
6. HDD/SSD
7. Optical Disc Drive (maybe)
8. Keyboard/Mouse (maybe)

If you buy your OS separately from Reddit, don't think the shop will bother installing for you out of goodwill. They just assemble the hardware, then boot into BIOS show you it is working fine (CPU, RAM, SSD, HDD all detected and correct).

OS you have to go home put onto a bootable flash drive and install yourself.

You get what you pay for.

Please don't buy a PRE-build package, it's not worth it and it's also not PRE-BUILD. When u buy then they will gather all the parts and assemble together.

The so call "PRE-BUILD" package usually have those part they want to get rid off, which is usually not ideal. Instead, start another thread then state your budget and needs, we recommend you the better parts. Then, you can bring the list of parts you want to buy and have them assemble for you.

those "recommended" parts list by shop are bad ..... they skimp the budget on casing , power supply , graphic card ....
then pump towards i7 cpu to make it appeal to buyers because they easier to remember "i5 good i7 best"

gaming most important is graphic card ...
but it doesn't benefit the shop or Branded pc as much to pump another $200 higher into the graphic card budget ...
the customer don't appreciate the small number difference like 1050 vs 1060 .... the difference looks small because "only 10"
while they see i7 will feel very attracted

I want to build a pc primarily to game dota2 and csgo at medium to high settings

After running through this forum i somehow think the following suit me given my tight 1k budget which inclusive of mornitor and OS

i5 6500 + asus h110m-a d4 mother board
Zotac gtx 1050 ti 4gb
Any 8gb ddr4 ram
Any 1tb hard drive
Any 24x optical drive
Any case and psu
Dell se2417hg mornitor

So i thought i could buy a gtx 1050 to add into the cheapest asus i5 6500 package at $592

You should get an SSD for OS + apps. HDD is for storage. Don't let the HDD lag your rig.

You might like to reconsider the Any Case n PSU.
Should get a good PSU also.
This is the engine of your rig.
Even more important since for gaming.

Ram.....get branded ones like kingston (lifetime warranty)

Psu a fsp hexa can liao. Don't need expensive ones. That's only 50+ for a 450w.

Emm printers shouldn't draw power from pc at all...they do provide power plugs for a reason after all. Unless you plan on buying portable printers like canon selpy series

For me I went to PC Themes at SLS. Prices are fair but service imho much better than tradepac. Bought 2 PCs from them this year. Tiagong from the laojiaos here that tradepac is one of those places where you know what you're doing or you already research properly the prices before heading down.

One downside is PCThemes don't help you install the OS if you don't buy from them. I bought mine online also. Think they got some contract with Microsoft. But when they build for you they will let you test ma. So just ask them how to install from the bios and they will guide you, but you have to do it yourself. It's not too difficult anyway. I'm quite the computer idiot and still managed to do it without much difficulty.

Btw can try Lazada also. That time when I was buying, everyday got a different credit card promo. Don't know nowadays still have or not. Like weekends it was DBS/POSB. Additional 12% discount or something.

And might I suggest you get at least a 250GB SSD? I'm currently using the 250GB and am wishing I'd shelled out a little more for the 500GB actually. Still usable though.

Btw I'm not any computer pro or anything. Just sharing my buying experience earlier this year after doing some research here on hwz.

For your gaming needs even i3-6100 is enough I think.

Consider a mobo with m.2 PCIe port so that you can buy a PCIe based SSD later. Speeds are much faster.
