PC Thunder bolt to iMac 2012 Display

Hi Friends

Has anyone personally tried a rig built with a thunderbolt mobo (e.g. gigabyte, asus) and connect the rig to a iMac display?

In Apple forums, there are mixed results on whether it will work. Someone tried with a thunderbolt PC laptop and worked but most rigs will not work.

According to the thunderbolt mobo specs, the thundebolt can output video and data.

As far as I can remember, post-2010 iMacs do not cater input signals to it to act as a monitor for other systems.

i think he meant the mac display which is only the monitor
