I encountered this issue before....i hand itchy changed cpu chip.....then after that i put back the original one.
Pc will come on live by itself after shutdown.
I check the power settings and all....didnt solve the problem.
In the end, just off mains.
Did this for a few months....then i find the pc reinstate back to original status.....means after shutdown....wont turn on again.
Very strange....until now also cant explain.

It happened again last week. Hmmm, guess I'll need to turn off the PSU before I sleep :s22:

Something else strange happened which I think is linked to the startup issue. Was surfing the new when my PC suddenly shutdown on me, like as though I pressed the power button.. it displayed the blue shut down screen. First time it happened it stayed shut down till I pressed the button to turn on, second time it happened, it started up by itself again... could it be a short in the cable or PSU problem?

I've set the "when I press the power button" to "do nothing" to see if it could be a software trigger. Monitor and see if it happens again..

Happened to me last time. Also dunno why. Was away at office whole day. Came back home in the evening to see PC was powered on. Asked my parents who were at home the whole day, they said they didn't touch my PC.

Logged in and checked the Windows event log. System activities started around 10 am in the morning when I was in office. In the end, use the PSU switch every day to prevent wake up. Dunno the actual cause in the end.

If see this on monitor, means jialat liao.

Gotta find edmw experts to solve this.

So far, I've tried:

1. Disable USB wake up in BIOS
2. Changing the power button setting from "shut down" to "do nothing"
3. Enabling EuP 2013

All didn't solve the problem. The spontaneous shut down / start up still occurred.

Now I've physically disconnected the PWR SW from the mobo and am starting up the PC by shorting the pins and then leaving the PWR SW disconnected to try and eliminate a possible casing issue. Will monitor and see if it still happens, else will bring the mobo and PSU back to distro to troubleshoot.

Happens to me too.

Disconnect from internet, change motherboard from amd to Intel, change PSU from ocz, cooler master, seasonic, and super flower, reinstall windows 8 and 10 also same problem

The solution is just to off the mains once ur done

Wah! I hope I'll be able to get to the bottom of this. Maybe casing contact cos my power button is s little sensitive, don't have to press a lot to activate the switch.. Let's see if it still happens now that I've physically disconnected the leads

I changed casing too. So basically all components change, disconnect from internet still same problem

It is actually good practice to switch off the mains if you are not at home.....many ppl dun do that....out of laziness.

Well, the issue is that it happens when I'm using the PC as well.. shuts it down. If it was only the waking up it's one thing, but shutting down suddenly in the middle of doing something is not good.

OK, after manually disconnecting the PWR SW and shorting the pins when I boot up, I've been monitoring the past 3 days and the shutdown/startup issue has not happened since.

Does this means that I may have a faulty, or overly sensitive power switch (perhaps thermal expansion/contraction causes a short in the contacts?) or something else?
