pc unable to detect new hdd

Hi all, need your advice on this.

I just put a new hdd (sata 1 slot) and my two existing hdd are in sata 2 and 3 respectively.

I put the boot up for my os under my old hdd (sata 2)

When I load into windows, it seems that my new hdd was not detected. But when I go to admin in control panel, it showed my hdd under disk 0.

How can I get the com to detect my new hdd?

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Disk Management

Find your hdd (should be a raw drive), then format as NTFS

Right click "My Computer", select Manage>Disk management, Right Click on the new drive>New Simple volume follow by formatting it after you selected the desired volume.

Just curious, I thought most HDD sold today comes from factory already NTFS-formatted by default?

IIRC, no for internal HDDs/SSDs

Most if not all are formatted to NTFS/FAT32 for external drives.

For internal drives, most are left under RAW format.
