Hi guys,

The memOk LED is lit up and my PC is unable to startup. This happened after i removed my heatsink and reapplying the thermal paste on my CPU. I have tried re-seating all of my 3 x 4GB RAM, using only 1 stick of RAM, trying different slots and different RAMs, pressing the memOK button, resetting CMOS.

None of that works and the memOK LED stays lit. I have also tried removing the graphics card and all the RAM and try booting up and the motherboard have beeps. Does this mean my mobo is not dead? Did i fry my CPU when i was reapplying the thermal paste? Does anyone know what happen and how do i solve this.

Hi there,

Before we condemn your motherboard is dead, try resetting CMOS. Look for a battery on the motherboard, take it out for at least 30 secs. After taking it out, press the power switch on your desktop (note: your pc has to be powered off completely). This is to drain any small charge left on the capacitors. Hope this helps.
