PCIe 3.0 x16 @ x8 ?

Hi all

I recently sli my rig....
and noticed that GPUZ reported that both my gpu are running at PCIe 3.0x16 @ x8.....
My mobo is mpowerz77 and I am on 3770k...

My search for answer showed that on single PCIe x16 capable card, it will run at PCIe x16... but once you sli, it will be PCIe x8 on both...

Is my understanding correct? Appreciate you enlightenment....

yes its correct.... and almost no impact in performance if you worry about the 16x and 8x
