I am intending to build a gaming PC for my nephew.

I need to ask if PCIe 5 NVMe SSD is likely to come out within next few months?

Intending to do RAID 0 on it.

RAID 0 pcie 5.0 gaming PC with RTX 3080 still lose to a SATA3 gaming PC with RTX 3090.

Channel the SSD money to where it matters more. Unless money no issue of course

Worth to wait if everything must be high end, the latest and greatest and fastest.

The difference in hd speed not going to matter much?

I know PCIe 4.0 NVMe already fast. So your recommendation is going for top tier GFX instead right

having proper rgb music reactive setup is more important than pcie 5 nvme ssd

12v rgb

5v argb

Signal RGB software to sync everything if your motherboard has argb port. Also useful for games

you can just use the nvme as your daily driver (os, applications) then the gaming files on a regular ssd.
just get a top end GPU.

It depend what on your usage, I have a Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVME and Samsung 870 EVO SATA.
Daily usage like surfing internet, play games/movies/video between NVME and SATA hardly
got any difference.

Unless you do task like file transfer, video editing etc. than NVME will be faster than SATA
cuz higher bandwidth. Gaming wise no difference seriously cuz most games depend
on CPU and GPU as well as size of RAM and speed.

So really depend on your daily usage, PCI4.0NVME is good to have but higher price
than PCIE3.0.

As it stands now, games don't benefit from the increased sequential transfer rate offered by PCI-E 4.0 SSDs. So even if you get a PCI-E 5.0 SSD and RAID 0 it, it will be just a waste of money. The increase in sequential transfer rate offered by PCI-E 5.0 SSDs will benefit enterprise users more than most consumers unless you need to access and move very big files very frequently.
