In my Gigabyte BIOS, my gtx 1070 is showing as

3.0 16X @ 1.0 16X

I read this as my slot and card is capable of PCIE 3.0 standards but using 1.0. There is no settings in the BIOS to change this.

What could be the problem?

Run the graphics test within GPU-Z it should show 3.0 X 16. I think it's some power saving mode at 1.0 X 16 unless there is 3D load to the card.

Thanks. This resolve the query.

After running GPU-Z graphics test, the PCIE mode changed from 1.1 to 3.0 and is reflected in GPU-Z.
