Hi guys,

I am an NSMan who recently downgraded to PES C2L2. I've received the letter from Med Board and checked on NS.sg that my PES status was updated as such. I will like to ask the following questions:

1. Does the Mindef system recognize that I am excused for IPPT in the future? I've heard of cases where they were sent letters for failing to attend IPPT despite a PES downgrade.

2. I read the following from another local forum:

"PES C2 - Do not have to take IPPT for NSF, except regulars who are required to take Alternative Aerobic Fitness Test (AAFT).

L2 - Fit for field duties but only in Unit HQ or rear areas."

I will like to ask, does it mean NSMan (myself) do not have to take IPPT in the future? And would L2 mean that I can always be deployed to outfield to load/unload and take care of stores?

Thanks.

2) That statement is already very clear. Unless you are a regular, if not you are exempted from IPPT or AAFT lor.

As the statement states you can be deployed for field duties....

If you got excuse that says you are excused heavy load or whatever, you can always say you can cary heavy stuff?

I shall answer just point 1: Do inform your NS unit thru phone call/writing emails. I have also heard that admin lapses do occur in IPPT or other types of call up, so the best way to prevent any problems is to call/email and note down whom (in your NS unit) you have informed about your new PES status. I personally prefer emails but it depends on your unit lor.

I too was recently downgraded to C2L2 after checking ns.sg. The first thing I did was try to book IPPT to assure myself, and obviously, the system will not allow you to book due to your PES status.
