Hi guys,
I’m enlisting on 10 April at Tekong as a PES C9L3 recruit, because of surgery on my upper limb. I got a couple questions before enlisting because I’m still unsure of some things.

1) How long is my NS life for PES C? I heard people saying they go through 1 year 10 months but I don’t know if it is the same for me

2) What are my chances of getting a stay-out vocation? Because I play football competitively and I graduated from JC (does it increase my chances of being a clerk with 8-5 shift?) and hoping to train with my team.

3) Am I even allowed to play football because will they complain that I’m not able to serve my time in NS and yet able to train with my team, or even SAFSA for that matter?

4) 10 April is on a Tuesday and I wasn’t sure if my first bookout would be on 24 April (Tuesday) or the subsequent Friday, 27 April?

Would really appreciate the replies guys, thanks :)

Last time, one of my (Pes E Permanent) comrades, who was a service medic, was a very active dragon boater in the national team then got people went to complain. He is super fit, got 6 packs & very muscular type. Thus, he was upgraded to Pes C2. NSF time vocation still as service medic, take note that Pes C2 needs to perform reservist while Pes E don't.

I call BS.

PES E does not exclude you from reservist after NSF.

Only PES F is excluded from both NSF and NSman.

1 ) I don’t believe PES C is eligible for 2 months reduction, because PES C doesn’t need to take IPPT, hence even if you take pre-enlistment IPPT and pass it also doesn’t matter.

2 ) The saying goes is, the more you wish for it, the more you wouldn’t get it. Your chances is as good as any other people. There are also other people who play sports competitively and also from JC, what makes you so different from them? To you it might be competitive, to them it might not be. Maybe you should consider joining SAFSA, even that, will require permission to be excused for training.

3 ) Don’t understand, what do you mean by not serving your time? You are PES F?

4 ) likely to be 27. Count two weekends, the 3rd you are out.

I don’t think you know the difference between physical fitness and medical fitness. So what you say is actually very funny.

Maybe I give you an example to enlighten you. You can be blind in one eye, hence maybe you are not going to be combat fit. But does that stop you from training up and be a body builder? I doubt.

Also what’s your source for saying PES doesn’t have to serve reservist?

For Pes E, maybe I'm wrong after seeing someone posted here.

I was a Pes E Permanent before ORD, and was posted to holding list after ORD, no call up for Reservist though. Already more than 20 years.
Perhaps it's really depends on where one is posted to.

1st of all, your PES is perm pes or temp only?
sometime if u got surgery, they give u temp pes, then go back for pes review after expiry of the temp pes

1) 2 yrs la, 1yr 10 mth if u r pes A/B and pass your IPPT before u enlist :s22:
this info online have leh. Even if u got up-pes when serving, still 2 yrs.

2) See which unit u get posted to after POP, if your camp very far from your home, would u wanna book out everyday to go home?

3) Play lor, u scared MP suddenly come to the field and arrest u?

4) 27 Apr, get to book out on a Friday.
