Hey guys,

1) I just received my NS enlistment date: 9 Nov. Is there anyone who has PES C9L9 and got an earlier enlistment date?

2) How is the training schedule like for PES C9L9 enlistees and what likely types of vocations are there for such enlistees?

3) Anyone who enlisted with PES C9 and is currently serving NS or have been through NS, may feel free to share your experiences here :)

Thanks for reading!

Nowadays C9L9 enlistees can fulfil quite a number of vocations. Drivers, ST(svc), clerks, logistics etc...

4 weeks on Tekong 5 weeks at some other base (most people will be sent to Sembawang, some to OETI, some to Air Force) at the end you will have a POP also with a "show".

There will be one night outfield during the Tekong phase of your BMT, really nothing much to it besides the heat. No route march.

You will still be expected to march properly etc; my COY commanders on Tekong were all very nice and we were almost never pumped but I don't think this is typical -- regardless, when you go to your base they will make sure you can march for the POP.

Vocations more-or-less divided by your education level with a few exceptions here and there.

N-lvl, O-lvl, ITE will mostly be storemen and drivers, a few will be service medics, even fewer will be clerks.

A-lvl and diploma: storemen, technicians, transport supervisors, quartermasters, service medics, clerks. Driver possible but less likely, transport sup you will get to learn driving too.

It won't necessarily be slack even after you get posted to a unit; some units still require C9L9s to do guard duty and I heard Guards and Commandos clerks will sign a lot of extras too as well as stay-in or do OT.

Thanks quendidil for your input! Hmm I guess life as a Pes C9 recruit is quite bad , with the sulky types of vocations.

but if got guards or clerks, it will be quite bad having to do lot of extras/ stay-in or OT.

if a clerk there is tough, then those combat fit ppl there even worse.
plus u also haven even posted there and already had a good pes to start with.

lowest of pes C still wan say more, than how can anyone help u? speak to head of MINDEF lo.

and previously u say "recurit" mean when ur in tekong.
unit is already private unless u fail ur bmt and vocation course.

Hi Guys , just want to ask I have my MIR report and specialist letter , how do I know what pes I will go to ?

My condition is I have dislocated my right shoulder and my problem is hill-sach's lesion and a tear of the anterior-inferior labrum. May I ask which pes I will go and will I be able to stay out for any reason due to my arm?

Arrange a medical review and bring your documents and the MO will let you know whether you PES status needs to be changed.

Your PES can be either A B C E or F.

Whether you can stay out or not depends on your excuse.
