thanks for the replies guys. just wondering, if i go back and beg them to let me back in would it be possible? I was PES-Fed like 3 months before my ORD date, previously was PES E

Don't mind asking. Any reasons why your pes status was downgraded before you ORD? Of course if its convenient to say lah.
But do take note, we can only provide you opinions from our experience serving NS, but it doesn't mean all cases are the same. I have MR, so I can quite confidently say this, CK is norm but just don't go overboard. Its only 2yrs + 10 cycles, serve and F off only. Don't try to challenge the system too much, because they have seen all types of pattern to know the moment we try... :s22:

Some employers or hiring managers can be curious of your NS, and my ask you about the pes status. Some local hiring managers can be pretty patriotic to hire only local men whom served their army well.

Medic here.

Outside employers have zero access to your medical records.

Even within SAF, your medical data is strictly restricted to need-to-know access.

You will face no problems in the outside world.

I like your confidence, but unfortunately your confidence has been misplaced.

You represent the entire outside world to be able to come to such conclusion?

Also if the application form ask you what’s your PES, you will lie about it?

Even without PES status, vocation sometimes may reveal too. Example my vocation was armament specs, which mostly were those with PES status. But I am PES B lucky one to land there. That's why I always tell colleague whose children going ns, just serve and **** off lor, don't try too hard to extent disrupting your outside life which has more than 50 years to go.

I have never come across an employer asking me about my PES status.

I never know that vocation is illegal for an employer to know when the objective of COS that stated your vocation is to prove that you serve NS for employers from both government/public and private sector. :s13:

I only know what you do in reality maybe secret which can be different from what can be surface on paper such as COS! ;)

Are you sure?

Certificate of Service (COS) issued to every NSF upon ORD contains such information including courses attended and unit posted.

There are employers, regardless whether civil services or private sectors, who asks for such documents to determine your suitability.

If your comment on being illegal is genuine, I supposed you should file a report of such a breach against civil services and Statutory Boards first.

Hi I recently got PES-F'ed for some mental issues. Are the rumors about not being able to buy house, hard to find job etc true? Thanks. I have been worried about this for the past few weeks and it's worsening my health. Thanks

Pte sector don't care abt PES. There're other more impt things to ask in the limited interview time. But if mentally ill ish hard to get job in SG.

Not true lah. Need not me reply, the fellow nsmen already commented. Its not asking to reveal the SOP or policy. Unit / PES status / vocation is fine imo. And if it's really that restricted information, SAF would have made sure the nsmen were told since decades ago.
