PESC9L9 questions

Hi. I am a PESC9L9 enlisting on Feb. My PES status is most likely due to a heart condition even though the NS health website did not state any excuses for me.
I have a few questions. I will really appreciate if any c9l9s can answer these questions.

First, is the exercise strenuous? I know that it is mainly walking around parade square and 5bx. If I cant complete the 5bx, will there be any extra punishments?

Second, how exactly are recruits punished? I know that those that excuse upper limbs can excuse push-ups. But I do not have such excuse, yet I am afraid I cannot take excessive push ups or holding in the position for long durations. Also, how frequent and in what forms do these punishment take. Will I get extra confinement or guard duty if I am unable to complete these punishments?

Thank you very much.

No extra punishment if u couldn't do 5bx. Most likely U will fall out and just stand behind them while there are doing their 5bx in the morning.
Normally the commander there will not pump you since you are pes C. Unless you really screw things up. But don't worry, normally they will only pump U few times and ask you recover le. During tekong weeks, rarely you will have confinement or guard duties unless u really repeat the same offense over and over again. There are other punishments as well. Such as area cleaning, essay writing, cut your admin time, etc etc.

so after BMT finished, the default punishment is sign extra. How often do they punish us by asking us to sign extra. and to clarify, does signing extra means staying back on both Saturday and Sunday?

It's not "default" it's one of many punishments available.

extras, stoppage of leave (aka during weekends also cannot go home) a form of confinement but more serious, DB.... mental punishment is worst.

extra is like doing extra duty lor...

how often? well u can have ZERO during ur entire NS life if u don't do anything wrong.

from what I know, during BMT we book out at sat 1pm and book in on sun 7pm.
So after we get posted to our units for specific vocation, what are the bookout timings for a stay-in unit. Is it the same as BMT? or Friday to sunday?

Who told you sat at 1pm?
and who told you sun at 7pm?

it really depends on what kind of stay-in, but should still be similar to bmt..

No swimming for pes C. Yes, I think they issued the same items no matter what pes you are belong to.

lol... no such thing... either u do 1 full day or longer...rotate of course...

then there is the normal guard duties which are the same as signing extra...but extra are punishment while normal guard duties are normal duties... enjoy the odd hours of doing it... either u siam the duties as OC didnt wake up at odd hours to check or u get OC to check on u during odd hours... which u need make sure u are really there... not worth it to have more extra signed...

tips...follow instructions carefully and got questions ask... so either u can do the normal duties or add in extra duties...

did have one guy...OC not happy with his standards of doing duties...or did not follow SOP... ask him go sign 7 extras one shot... :s22:

make sure the replacement your duties have arrived on time... if not u going to do longer time... or even worse...no enough people to do...rotate till tired... and add in night time patrolling... :s22:

that for normal Pes A to C ones... Pes E ones their extra should be relax ones... maybe do the sentry / stay in aircon security room to do the duties...but dont too comfort and sleep inside...later OC come do spot check then u suffer more... =:p...

Basically, you are exeused from any phyiscal activities.

However, you are still liable to charges and DB should you failed to executed orders which were given to you or insubordination.

Serve well and stay out of trouble.
