Hmm. Could be. Maybe Qualcomm is only bundling those CDMA stuff with their own modem, and maybe nowadays they designed it so that it works with their own chipset only? Totally just guessing here.
In the past it still seems possible since Samsung used the Exynos 7420 globally back then, and I think variants that requires CDMA uses Qualcomm's modem. If that's the case, then really could be impossible to see Exynos globally again.
Samsung midrange phones are launched in the US with Exynos. Unlocked variants with Exynos are also sold there. So technical compatibility is not as issue.
It also does not explain why Latin countries get Snapdragon when they mostly use GSM.
