Dear users,

Can you share your experience with each of the above monitors?!

What are the things you like and dislike about it??!! For example,

- Price
- Aesthetic
- Panel quality/firmware
- Monitor menu and connectivity
- Customer support/warranty service

Your feedback can help us decide which to buy. Thanks! :D

I think many will go for Acer, and not a lot of people using Asus though.

Price - The Acer wins as it is a little cheaper.
Aesthetic - The Asus wins comfortably. It just looks sleeker and feels more premium.
Panel quality - This is a tough one. The QC for the Asus PG279Q is very inconsistent and there have been plenty of complaints online about excessive backlight bleeding. It appears that there are less complaints about the QC for Acer but you never know. I just bought the PG279Q and had to go through one exchange to get a unit with minimal BLB.
Monitor menu and connectivity - The controls on the Asus are fantastic. According to some reviews online, so much better than the Acer.
Customer support / warranty service - Can't really comment on this as I don't have much experience with either.

All in all, if you have the cash to spend and are lucky enough to get a PG279Q without any QC issues, I would say that the PG279Q is a better monitor.

Thanks for your sharing.

Kindly remember to vote for PG279Q. As of now, no vote at all. :o

Asus qc and the local agent kind of terrible

Telling people that you got only 1 chance to change if back light bleed is terrible

Worst than buying from amazon and newegg

My advice is this.
If you are looking for the quality of the Acer XB271HU monitor, refer to this forum. It is definitely better with less complains from forumers here except for a few when compared to overseas buyers who have more problems due to different production facilities.

If you can remember, the Asus PG279Q uses the same panel as the XB271HU. The only reason for higher price is you are paying for the brand.

So ultimately now, you are to choose. For me personally,
Price - Acer is cheaper
Look of monitor - Acer's monitor is Bezel-less. Better looking as a result.

switched from xb271hu to pg279q and never looked back since. paid a $200 premium for the aesthetics of the ROG branded monitor but i was lucky enough to get a good quality panel. :)

I like the design of the acer xb271hu though.

And the slim bezel design seems nicer compared to the asus..and further more, the price also much nicer.

Asus is just paying more for brand and your preference of design, since panel is the same.

When i made my purchase, i had 3 monitors in mind. Was upgrading from a 24inch benq xl2430t 144hz. Wanted an ips 1440p monitor. Singled out the asus pg249q, acer xb271hu and acer x34. Did some research on asus on the net and youtube, and alot of complaints regarding the blb so didnt want to take the gamble, as for x34, thought the ultrawide feature was cool, but sacrificing fps and refresh rate since i am coming from 144hz and 100hz might feel diff. Not all game support ultrawide reso too.. The acer xb271hu seems to have lesser issues. I have gotten the may 2016 batch, no dead/stuck pixels and blb it seems. Happy with the purchase.

Got myself the acer xb271hu for its QC reputation against asus n saved $200+ . Never heard much of complaints on the acer after sales service, but the asus sounds scary. I m another happy n lucky owner of xb271hu. No dead pixel or blb (at least i can't see it on different background colors) :)

Just go for the xb271hu and save all the risk and trouble.

I bought the pq279q cuz of the better design (red stand of the acer's is a no go for my build) and risked the BLB. That's it. My monitor's BLB was minimal, but cant say the same for the rest.

Can't say I disagree. I went for the Asus for the same reasons. The aggressive outlandish design of the Acer wasn't for me. How minimal is acceptably minimal?
