Hi, not sure if anyone knows?

Comparing Philips 27B1U7903/69 and 32M1N5800A/69, can we say that those with Mini LED backlight gives you best of both world from IPS and VA panels?

Courts, Harvey Norman, and Best Denki doesnt seems to have these models. Does anyone know where is it on sale? or is it even in SG ?

Ironically, cant find any way to contact Philip other than an email, which seems to be very generic, so i supposed hardly anyone will even reply.

haiz. ok, i just go try find Samsung then. seems that due to chip shortage and worldwide logistics issue, etc, a lot of monitor models are not in SG, for many brands. but these philips monitor specs seem really good all rounder leh. too bad.

Need to wait for equivalent AOC models, since their monitors are just rebranded versions of each other

Sorry, I know it's an old post but for anyone else interested in the Philips 27B1U7903 monitor, I just heard back from Philips that it'll be available in Singapore from 11 Aug 2022.

I don't believe Philips manufacture monitors. In other words, they probably just buy the monitors from OEMs and slap on their brand on it, just like most of they appliances. Given their very diverse product offerings, I don't feel that they have the expertise to support things like monitors, even though they have been in the TV market for some time.
As to your question about mini LED, it has nothing to do with IPS vs VA. Mini LED is basically an alternative backlighting that aims to improve blacks and brightness in a very high level explanation. OLED is the prime example where areas that are meant to be dark/ black, remains very dark, and at the same time, areas that are meant to be bright are ultra bright. So it is more like a technology that aims to close the gap between IPS/VA/TN vs OLED. Having said that, while mini LED is a good step up from the usual edge lit monitors, the effectiveness is very dependent on the number of zones there are. Ideally the more mini LED zones there are, the better the effect on contrasting brightness. There is however one problem that cannot be avoided, and that is the "blooming" effect.
