Search through the forum unable to find any posting regarding this philips oled805 tv. Is it good enough just for movie, netflix and occasionally local channel tv. Not using for game console or pc.

Is the price of $2999 reasonable for the 65 inch model?

With 3k rather you buy LG oled.

65 inch LG oled can get at 3k?
Need top up slightly. But 65 cx is around 3.5k, see if you can find any display set etc or ask them offset vouchers maybe can be slightly above 3k. LG has a way better tv os

I prefer android tv. I think LG dont use android os. Android is more versatile interms of apps in playstore

I read review OLED805 is in the league of c1 in terms of picture quality. No point paying same price for a lousier a1.

Erm… I believe the processor will slowdown after 1-2 years for android tv. But I think it’s ok la still an oled panel but I wouldn’t pay 3k for Philips oled, most people here bought LG and Philips oled isn’t considered by most here. But do go ahead and get it and let us know how is it.

I mainly watch Netflix, Disney, Apple TV movies, YouTube etc, don’t really use third party apps but if you need, then android tv suits you more I believe

Sale i see got ard 3700 or wat. or can ask ard in shop.
Actually my original budget is for tcl 65C825 but the import set seems got issue now as i read in another thread, and waiting for more review. So i up budget for the local distributor set. Happen to get this lobang for $2999 as courts is selling around 3999 after 600 voucher discount. Maybe can bargain for lesser. This is actually a display set price but the tv has not been put on display due to space constrain in shop. Checking to see if its worth the price. Above 3k, probable too much to increase budget some more liao.since original budget is $1888. My currently 12 year old philips 40 inch still working with no issue so still can wait

If it's a unopened display it's a decent deal. But if I remember correctly Phillips display only 1 year warranty regardless open or not so that's something u need to take note of

3 years full warranty, but does not warrant burn in.

Actually 3k you spending a lot and of all oled, LG and Sony are the best. I thought I saw somewhere in Carousell got someone selling 65 inch LG GX for like 3188, this is higher end and better than LG CX in terms of wall mounting design, unopened display set.

3k for unopened display set Philips 2020 model doesn’t seem that worth to me. However, think you will be the first one here to buy Philips 805 oled, picture quality should be similar due to having same oled panel so for daily use, shouldn’t affect much.

In my personal opinion, Philips is worse in class. Just go Reddit see Philips android tv slowdown. LG webos is better than Samsung Tizen imho.

LG(overall usage best), Sony (best for movies), Panasonic (also good for movies)

but don’t forget LG has 4x hdmi 2.1 while Philips don’t, and paying 3k for display set kinda feels so for Philips, I was quoted below 3k late last year for 805 model brand new display with 5 years warranty for 2799 in March this year earlier, 65 inch Philips 805 but I still didn’t go for it.

Can get A80J or older models, some Sony experts here can better advise on Sony/Panasonic here.

Thanks all for the feedback. I will wait for the philips oled806 or miniled 9636 with is said to have 1000 dimming zones. Launching soon i hope. Good thing is my 12 year old philips still in good shape, just that watching netflix now on hd ready tv really sucks

This is great news, but it seems to be only announced in Europe. Any idea if the Mini LED 9636 would be available in Singapore? Upon checking the local Philips website they do offer their OLED series with B&W speakers but there's no mention of their MiniLED series. I hope its not a Europe exclusive TV like the U.S Exclusive Hisense U8G (which is the current best MiniLED TV at its price below $1000 for the 55").

I have no idea too. But singapore is too small a market to make any launch announcement i guess. So far have not seen any philips model not available in sg, but i could be wrong.

Existing oled tv with B&W speaker is oled935, their flagship model. The up coming oled806 and miniled 9636 should have it too i think. Quite a big upgrade for philips tv this year, including 48 Mbps hdmi 2.1, faster processors.....
