Hi, I'm looking to get a phone to use for 1 year as my contract only ends next April. My current phone's battery health is poor so I was thinking if I should get a phone to use for 1 year. Is it worth to get a new iPhone 11 now and sell it off when I get a new phone with my contract?

What's your current phone? If the phone condition is still good and you're okay to use it for another year, you can consider changing the battery instead.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus now. Problem with changing the battery is that I think they have to remove the screen glass. But mine is cracked so I would need to replace the screen as well :(

If the repair price is more than $250 then I guess it would be better to get a cheap phone at the meantime to last for this 1 year.

If you have the budget for iPhone 11 then it's also good, you can sell it next April after you switch to a new phone and still get some value.

Actually, battery replacement is from the rear (back).

Samsung service center policy (run by mDR Limited) is to not accept any form of device service with cracked screen (yes, even if it's software issue that does not require the opening of the device), unless the user agrees to replace the cracked screen at the regular price.

For Apple, it’s not just a phone...

You are going into a new eco-system.

When I got iphone 6plus ...more than 4 years ago.... I had bought a lot of movies, songs and some paid apps...

It can’t share with android system...:(

Therefore for short period of 1 year, I don’t recommend Apple iphone, please stick with android phone... it is much easier to migrate.

Your Samsung S9 can go to those shops to replace screen and battery... I think less than $200/-
If die die want to get a new phone... look at mid-range Samsung A51 ... at least you still can use back the Samsung cloud.

I do my repair at LITE MOBILE.
Got a few stores in SG.
Can try, last I saw, screen replacement is $139 for S9+.

Built-in battery from $38.....
So not sure actual price.
Call them for quote.
