Hi

I want to create my own travel photo book. Any recommendations?

Some question
1. Which photobook maker to use? are the final photobook created in a proprietory format ? What is the most commonly used format?

2. I'm found blurb, anyone use before ? to ship back to SG ?
Is the SW used a proprietory format one ?

3. There are some local ones, any used before ?
a. just1book
b. photobooksingapore
c. photobookexpress
Any comments?

After spending time and effort, i hope not to waste the effort (if so ever) the local site closes shop and I can no longer print the same book in another site.

Thanks Thanks

To be honest. the photobook providers like fotohub, snapfish are most popular but not cheap. In additional, there is no professional editing so the quality of the photo may not be so good. At the end, you will not be happy after spending so much money.

Another perception that you have mentioned is that doing yourself will save cost.
It is not correct. As you need to go to any printing shop for printing, so you will have to pay high.

For me as a professional in this area, my printing cost is much lower as I print in bulk and regular. Mostly 60% cheaper than regular price.
So i add in professional editing to look image good then print. Sometime if the quality of the original image is too good, you can even get cheaper price compared to those website (fotohub, snapfish.....)
But it can cost more too if the original image is too bad and u need to add effect like change background, open eyes , skin smoothing, blemish removing and body shaping ..etc
So at the end, you will get nice and quality memory book with no effort and competitive price with market price..

So how freelance make $$ is that mostly ppl want to look very good in the picture. So they want to do all sort of photo editing like body shaping, skin smoothing, putting make-up, teeth whithening, change hair style, ......
All can be done in photoshop and it is how we generate income..

I've printed around 14 copies of 6 different books using Blurb's service for the last several years, and shipped to Singapore. On balance, the service is pretty good for their relatively lower asking prices. Their software is proprietary and unique to their service.

Printing + shipping duration of my last few books were a fortnight from the time of order.

Personalized Photobook | Snaps.sg

I have always been fascinated with the power of being able to freeze a moment when you take a picture of it, that’s why I take my camera and back up films with me all the time to make sure that I don’t miss any interesting moment and then digital cameras came plus various kinds of camera phones and taking pictures anywhere and anytime just became more convenient. Before I even realized it, I no longer know where to put my photos.

So I thought of making a photo book where I can store all of my photos to last a lifetime but I can still show them off to anyone.

Lucky for me I bump into snaps.sg online, they caught my attention so I decided to give it a try, so I compiled all my photos from my Singapore getaway with my friends last year since I found out through digging online that it’s a Singapore based website, I thought it would be a great start.

When they delivered the finished product I couldn’t deny how good they are with how it turned out so well. What I liked about them is that:

• They allow me to inject my own ideas on how to customize my photo book so that it won’t look uniform with their other customer.
• The process of making it was so simple and convenient with their user-friendly interface.
• And as I scrutinize and drool over my photo book, I have proved that they do adhere to their commitment to 120% satisfaction guarantee.

I have to say that, I’m meticulous when it comes to pictures because they’re sentimental to me and yet the photo book that I received rendered my nit-picking lips speechless.
