Hi

My wife and I have not been to Phuket before and thought of going there before going to Bangkok this year end. I chanced upon Phuket.com and found that Jungceylon shopping mall appears to be happening. Is it worth staying near this mall?

We are not beach people and hope to get some shopping in malls, especially my wife :D and some street and night market shopping.

Could any expert recommend us some hotel options, not so high end type, where we will be in the heart of the Phuket shopping belt? Prefer to stay in the heart of action like Myeongdong in Korea, Ximending in Taipei, Shinjuku in Tokyo, Oxford Street in London and Mongkok in Hong Kong etc

Is the Premium Outlet very far from the downtown?

Let me know. Thanks!

Phuket not like seoul so happening ...
Myeongdong in Korea mostly cosmetics store ...
more suitable for female ...

Ximending in Taipei more for teenagers ...
many food to eat and can shop around
things not cheap, dan shuei cheaper

Mongkok in Hong Kong
prefer to go temple street cheaper ...

depending on seasons, have stayed phuket hotels near junceylon, one nite 3 to 4 stars hotel, abt 25 to 35sgd per nite with breakfast ...

Jungceylon happening...stay around here is convenience but can be noisy at night with all the pubs and restaurant nearby.

Bangla street happening at night...it's a street away from Jungceylon. Go with your wife for experience or tell her to sleep early and u go alone :o

personally would advise people to stay near juncelyon mall that area
have restaurants and big c to eat
walk 10min to patong beach so good
hotel prices very good
abt 25+ to 35sgd per nite for 3 to 4 stars hotel with breakfast

if u stay far, cab is super expensive
think abt 10min trip is abt 200b ...
most places there no shelter ... raining time then jailat if u stay far ...
very little cab there ... so they wont go by meter unlike bkk

Thanks for all the replies.

Juncelyon mall will be the place! I will keep in mind the advice on the 'happening' Bangla street :D. After research, I am targetting at Pimnara Boutique Hotel which is located in the Juncelyon mall. Like Pathumwan Princess in MBK? Any feedback before I book? At least we can hang around the mall when it rains or getting too hot :D.

beside is milliemium hotel
macdonald , kfc, bk there is super expensive
fillet o fish meal is already 265b lol ...

nah, the hotel room is 27m2 superior no bath tub
pathwaun princess is 34m2 superior with bath tub
you cant use that hotle to compare with pathuwan princess
pathuwan princess is abt 125 to 135 per nite superior no bf

perhaps u can use deevana plaza phuket to compare with pathuwan princess
tat would be a better choice as both r abt 4.5 stars ...
