Thought of staying near central festival phuket
but the hotels nearby that area is not alot ...
hence would stay at patong area instead ...

Stay at Patong but u can have a half day trip to Phuket town instead to visit the mall and night markets.

Have booked my phuket patong hotel as well...
Dec hotel rates is about 50% higher than usual period ...

For example:
3* hotel around junceylon area
might cost about 20+ to 30+ sgd per nite for two
Dec period price would be at least 50% higher ...

Even for 4 to 5* hotel
such as Horizon Patong Beach Resort
offpeak, can cost about 50+ to 60+ sgd per nite
Dec might cost about 100+ sgd per nite
