Ping Spikes on gaming laptop (Wireless)

Hi guys,

i just bought a G56JK Asus and it currently have 1k-2k Pings spikes when i play games like Dota 2.

I called the technical center and the reply i've gotten is that all of the G56JK model experience the ping spikes when gaming on wireless. He also mentioned that G56JK works on a QualComm Atheros AR956x and said that the wifi adapter is not as good as what is currently in the market.

Can anybody recommend/ teach me how to see if a wifi adapter on a laptop is good or bad ?

I want to know where that technician got his info. Atheros wifi is second only to Intel wifi. All the so-called gaming Killer wifi cards are rebranded Atheros cards.

Well i'm really not sure . i find it hard to be convinced that all of the G56JK have this 1k-2k ping when gaming with wifi while my old R510 Samsung is smooth.

Any advice on what laptop should i go for and how to determine if it has a good wifi card?

He also mentioned something about QualComm Atheros AR956x running on lesser Ghz of connection compared to other asus models.

Not sure if my G551jm has this issue or not. Gaming using lam cable to my fibre.
