My ping to router is 1ms - 9ms using cmd to Test. Using wired connection. Router is asus AC66U.. is this normal? Tested with 2 pc wired 1pc using 1m lan cable cat5e another using 15m.. is there something wrong? Tried resetting the router but still the same. Is cable faulty or my router faulty?

A latency > 1ms is not normal on a wired connection.

You might want to check the load averages on the router and see if there's anything hogging the CPU cycles

I saw online some of them using the beta firmware having similar problem.. could it be the firmware casing it?

I just tested mine as well..im not getting my >1ms even on a fresh router..
I had mine replaced 1 for 1 thinking it was the router defect.. but it seems to be the same.. my wireless is choppy.. my wired is bad..
This doesnt seem to worth 300 bucks at all..

Is it overheat? Try bring down the heat and try again

no its not overheated.. temp is 40-50degree

my wifi ping to router is horrible.. it spikes @500-1kping for VERY long like almost 5minutes if i dont do anything about it..
i dont have interference at all

the wired ping to router can be stablized at <1ms if i use the normal fw instead of the beta fw
but my wireless is still horrible

i am sure it is not over heating

my connection from my router to modem is fine as well..
it's only the connection from devices to router thats cranking up
the wifi always shoots up to ~1k ping during usage

Try uncheck the b/g protection if u don't have any b/g device.

my laptop shows fine <1ms to 5ms
my desktop has games on that and currently the ping is 900~

however if my laptop were to turn on applications as well it will shoot up like the desktop..

the ping rises on usage.. is there anyway around this?

i did a 1for 1 exchange for my ac66u so it shouldnt be a hardware problem
