what game are u playing on the desktop?

what apps did you start on the laptop?

desktop and laptop on wifi?
yes both on wifi

i play neverwinter night on my desktop + Steam somehow the problem arise when i have too many connections and is fine when i jus have 1 game on..

my laptop just surfing and streaming music/videos.. chrome with too many streamings would cause the ping issue

well my older weaker g router can support 3 different games without my wifi cranking up

not sure why your other router has no issues

although i think it won't work, but you could try the following and see if it helps.

use back .270 firmware.
disable TX Burst
disable APSD
change DTIM to 1

if still cannot resolve, then sorry, I'm out of ideas :s13:

try a wired connection to another laptop directly to the router and ping.
if <= 1ms, then its client having the problem.

if still the same result, try put a fan directly facing the router and full blast. see if there's any improvement.

if not, could be as what people said, firmware.?

yes i use all 2.4ghz cos the 5ghz is not stable at all.. it gives more outage and and ping issue is more frequent
but occasionally i still do try 5ghz to see if it is better..but seems like both settings give me this ping spikes

if there isnt any fix i think imight have to refund it..
any other router recommendations?

Switch off the huawei wifi. It might interfere. Or any cordless phone nearby.

i am sure it is not over heating

my connection from my router to modem is fine as well..
it's only the connection from devices to router thats cranking up
the wifi always shoots up to ~1k ping during usage

Hi

From your SS that u had provided, I am suspecting that the 40mHz wide fat channel might be culprit. Below are some of the setting/changes that I advisde you to try out. I am also using these settings too.

1. Wireless mode: N only (if u do not have any other b/g devices)
2. Chaneel BW: 20mHz
3. Control channel: 1
4. Preamble Type: Auto
5. DTIM Interval: 1
6. Enable TX bursting: Disable
7. Enable WMM APSD: Disable

Other than these, I see no issues with them. After applying them, do a reboot of the router to play safe.

Do u noe ur stuff well or not ? From ur SS, u set ur AC66U to be 192.168.2.2 gateway to 2.1. From this, ur router is 2.2 and huawei to be 2.1. Pls do note that ur subnet mask also play a part here. X.X.1.X and X.X.2.X with the same mask of /24 are of 2 separate network.
