At least bahasa has a higher penetration among those who went to school in Indonesia, similar to china where even the most remote of village can speak some putonghua, albeit using their very heavily accented tone and vocab that only the local understand .Oh that's even lower then i thought.
But wdym Bahasa Indonesia? Why would Indians know that language?
The regional politics among the indian states is so strong that some indians rather use English to communicate with other fellow India nationals, than to use Hindi.
