plan to get a part-time degree

Hi,

I am currently working in HDB and I am planning to get a part-time degree that is related to my line of work.

I only have a electrical and engineering diploma from SP with average results( cannot go into local uni).

Can anyone advise me on which sch or course to take??

I believe unisim has a Bach of engineering in Electronics part time. Should be cheaper as well since it is subsidised. And since you are working in gov sector, unisim will probably have an edge over the other DL degrees since it is considered local degree.

Estates matters etc is what? U work on repairs or coordinate ppl to go do dirty job.

Do u see yourself wanting to move up in the same area? What kinda degree do they seek? Anything paper will do?

I do not have any intention to be based in Australia at the moment.

Engineering HDB looks that u have to be PEB accredited, part time degree outside local uni are not peb accredited. U are better doing something like this Bachelor of Building and Project Management

1) Agree that OZ do not welcome anyone unlike Sg. That is the reason almost anyone can be in Sg to work even if they have language barrier, work in job not in demand & etc. That is also another reason why a lot of us want to work or get PR in OZ but have problem going over there & sadly remain in Sg KBKP about 'Jobs for FT & NS for Male Singaporean'.

2) To work in civil, contraction & building related trade in Sg as 'Engineer', one must be recognize by PEB Sg or BCA. To be a Prof Engineer(Civil), one MUST be recognize by PEB Sg. To be other type of Engineers like 'Resident Engineer', one MUST be recognize by BCA. So by studying DL Degree, you will almost never become a PE but still work in civil, contraction & building related trade in Sg as 'Engineer' as long as it is recognize by BCA.

So easy to go oz meh, it's not for everyone.

no way PEB is going to recognize this degree for PE; its not even an engineering degree. but this degree is recognized by BCA for Technical Controller, Class 1.
