i agree it's quite expensive and it's usually crowded. it's still better to get a cab. if u approach the staff who in charge in front door, usually he/she has list of the pricing for cab service.. i manage to took snapshot last time.. here is the list.

Thanks!
Got a reply from Harris saying that a one way transfer is $15 from Sekupang.
Oh and the rates I paid for my room includes shuttle bus to Nagoya. So probably wouldn't need a private driver to get to town.

order from carousell
Nowadays buying from carousell is so much cheaper.
Two way tix will only cost you $29.50 (Inclusive of all taxes)

Just search for Batam ferry, you will see many results
Its either meet up or by post.

If you walk in or book ferry tix online, it will cause you around $50 per person. So you do the math, you know which is a better offer LOL

Never believe that Groupon or Deal will be cheaper. Because you forgot to read the fine prints. A lot of taxes that you are require to pay is not included. Its all marketing gimmicks.
Ferry plus hotel is not cheap too. Its the same normal price, you dont save a lot or any.

If you want cheaper hotel rates compare to online booking. Then I suggest you only buy the hotel vouchers when you reach batam centre.
Look out for a KAHA counter near the ferry ticket counters. This KAHA is like a tour agent. They get hotel rates cheaper by about $8-10 per room per night. Comparing to online, you can save quite a bit. There is always pro and cons for every deal. Of course, you can't expect to get your favourite hotel. You get what is available on the time you walk in. I have no issue getting my regular hotel usually. I avoid going during peak holiday seasons. Popular hotels will be fully booked. Weekdays no issue.

I still prefer to alight at Harbourbay Ferry Terminal because its nearer to Nagoya Hill area. Most hotels are located around there.
