Hi all, encounter a prob yesterday when playing FPS game like call of duty and mass effect.

Previous about 1 yr ago was playing these games at high setting n everything was smooth.

But then started playing it again yesterday n the games suddenly becomes very lag.

What could be the cause of it? Low hard disk issue? My OS is install on a sad and the games are install on a 3tb hard disk with around 60gb of free space left currently.

Can be anyone of the factors u mentioned. I suggest u open task manager and msi afterburner during gaming and look out for any abnormality when the lag occurs, be it abnormally low clocks on the gpu to abnormally high ram/storage usage etc.

I suggest you test the HDD. A failing HDD can cause lag spikes. There are other possible reasons but a bad HDD will cause the most problems so that should be the first thing to check.

TS, do you experience this sluggish issue in game or in general, i.e. even when Windows or application start takes a long time? If the issue happens in general, then I agree with Koenig168 that it could be a hard disk issue.

During game. Everything else was as usual nothing sluggish or choppy.

But then when I play the game I play last yr on the same high setting, mass effect was very lag.

Call of duty on n off lag. At times when I walk forward, I have stop pressing it but due to the lag I continue to walk forward for a few sec
