Hi Guys,

I have zero prior knowledge of DIY nor hardware..
Just dismantle an old PC laying around and hoping to build a new one, never DIY-ed a PC before.

Parts I have for now

CPU: LGA 775 E6750 w/o HSF
HDD: 300GB / 240GB
GPU: 8600GTS / GTX 460
RAM: 4x1GB DDR2
ODD: LG?
PSU: 550W
Case: Random CM
Monitor: Samsung 17 Inch

Suspect MB got issue, able to power up but unable to do anything, and screen have funny thick shadow but not due to the monitor…

Was thinking if I want to upgrade by getting

MB: Asrock H81M-DGS
CPU: G3220
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 8GB(2x4GB)
HSF: Coolermaster X Dream i117
Case: A nicer case….

While Reusing the following

HDD: 300GB / 240GB
GPU: GTX 460
PSU: 550W
ODD: LG?
Monitor Samsung 17 Inch

The whole purpose of this new rig is for light gaming such as Dota 2 ( Able to play at highest setting?? )

Any advise for me, if this rig is a go or no go? Might upgrade next time round if required, but not at the moment.
Or any better upgrades for parts?

As for OS, I believe one of the HDD have Wins XP installed, will I be able to reuse it?
The PC was last seen alive back in 2009?

Pardon me for any missing information, best I can provide with my current knowledge…
Thanks
