Hi guys, please help me! I recently moved house and realised that my monitor display had no signal when the PC is switched on. I have tried finding solutions on Youtube, including resetting? CMOS etc, changing ram ports, using 1 ram instead of 2 etc. The only thing that worked for me was when i removed the graphics card entirely and ran onboard graphics.
I have 3 questions:
1) must the monitor display displayport cable be connected to the graphics card for the display to show up? My computer has 2 displayport inlets, one on the gfx card and one for the cpu i think.
2) Do I need to change my gfx card? Is it faulty?
3) I am currently using a R9 290 Tri X from Sapphire bought in 2014. What are the current alternatives that can bring similar or marginally better performance? My usage is normal surfing, watching bluray movies and playing Dota. I used to play AC Black Flag and Tomb Raider but am short of time these days so kindly recommend a gfx card to me that fits my needs.
Thanks!
