Hi I need to build a gaming rig from scratch. The games I play not very graphic intensive for e.g DOTA, LoL, Hearthstone, PUBG. As long as I'm able to play at max settings with around 60fps would be great. I need a monitor, keyboard(preferably mechanical) and mouse too. Budget around $1.5k

Looks good. Ram, make sure it's 2x sticks for double data rate. Could be nice if RAM is faster as it helps with the processor speeds as well but the prices are insane at the moment and with your budget, a bit hard to fit in. Can also consider R3-1200 for more budget-friendly option.

Your ram you gonna go for 8gb kit or you going to go for 16gb kit?
Windows 10 you can get it from Taobao (Credits to MoneyFace)

I'm not sure about the other game, but you can refer to my build.

It cost me 1.5k inclusive of TPLink T6E 1300 Wifi Card($50) & the hundred over bucks of Windows 10.

Maybe if your budget is too tight, you can consider going for I3-8100 or Ryzen 1400 instead.

If you want to try to build yourself, you can consider to look out for local shopping online discount @ 1212 (Lazada, Shoppee & Q10) , otherwise I suggest you compare the price of your FULL BUILD using SimLim price list and then go over and see which can get a little more discount.

P/S. Your PSU may consider to go for FSP HyperK and you may consider to use Tecware Vision (Void). Void is same as vision but then it's slight shorter in height.

The last game, PUBG is the weak link

To play that game on ULTRA

You will need to get a GTX1070TI to get > 60fps at ULTRA
I have tested
GTX 750 950 10603gb 10606gb 1070 1070TI

If you can accept a lower Graphic quality for PUBG, a 10606gb ought to be sufficient, else be prepared tor a GTX1070TI or higher...

oh wow u did end up with a ryzen 5, hows the fps in dota?
his problem is pubg. the rest of them will be fine with a 1050

I will be going for 2x4gb of RAM then. About the RAM speed if I downgrade the CPU to r3 1200 what would be an optimal speed for the RAM.

Is the R3 1200 sufficient for me to run all these games smoothly?

Have also changed some of my rig parts based on your suggestions. Need help with finding a monitor at about $300. Which monitor would you recommend, don't need all the 4k or 144hz refresh rate one I don't think my gpu can handle also.

Your best bet for pubg is i3-8100. You can ignore the ram speed then as Intel is not that particular on ram speeds.

As per the video, even with a 1080ti you get patethic fps at Ulta for pubg. Consider lowering the settings to low(that's what most players play at anyway) and a 1060 will do fine.

If you can run pubg smoothly, all other games shouldn't be an issue.

"PUBG is not a graphically intensive game" - You obviously didnt do your research properly there That game is one of the most demanding and poorly-optimised games right now. Realistically you might wanna add a few bucks to get the 6gb variant if you wanna hit 60 on high(the 6gb variant hits abt 70 FPS on high settings)

Anything below the 1060 6gb you'll probably be looking at PUBG on low-medium settings.

And for your monitor choice tbh the ONLY game it cannot handle/push above 60 fps would be PUBG. Other FPS/MOBA games like DOTA/Overwatch all hit 100-200 fps on ultra settings easy so you could still reconsider a higher refresh rate monitor.

I concur on what narkizy said

GTX1060 6gb will get you > 60fps on MED-HIGH
PUBG uses about 3.5gb of vram
The GTX1060 3gb can still play PUBG if you are on a very tight budget though...

Yep, cause did a little more search on 8100 and AMD, I think it was 1400 the same as 8100 but then a few more bucks for 1600 so I settled for 1600, more mobo choices as well compared to Intel at the moment. The fps according to dota’s network it was usually around 100 over? Will edit with a ss tonight !

I not sure regarding to PUBG because I only plays DotA2 but I think 2x4gb should be fine and you can consider to expand in near future if your mobo supports 4x . As for the speed you have to do a check on your desire mobo, it should specify the memory support such as 2133/2400 etcetc then depends on your budget see which is better for you but try at least a 2400 or ideally if your mobo and budget fits, perhaps a 3000?

As for the monitor, I found a few on Lazada which is somewhere near two hundred or lower. Will edit with link later at night but if the monitor is good or not need to enquiry the old bird.

You can try to play around with the site and look for the minimum specs you need for your game setting. I used this and minimise the list of CPU/GPU to look out for then do comparison. Try to get a higher value% ��

However, you should not be too savey on the build cost because also affect the rig itself overall. Eg. You choose a 3000hz instead of 2400hz which your cost ^ , but on the other side your performance also ^.
Try to bring a little extra to SLS, my budget was 1000 but poof it became 1500. You can try to visit Dynacore the people there are good and you’re able to bargain a little + the boss can advice you on some parts that you have yet to decide.

If you have old peripherals to use, then you can go ahead and build your rig first and then slowly upgrade your peripheral. Or if you desktop isn't near it death any time soon, then upgrade your peripheral first then get your rig. Either way is fine i believe, you don't have to get everything at once because I believe transporting the stuff would be another issue unless you got a few friends that is willing to tag with you to bring all the empty boxes of your rig component(Keep them incase you wanna sell) and your peripherals.
Also try not to restrict to just PC Themes, try look around all the pricelist.
