Pls help: Considering migrating back to iPhone

My view is also in blue colour.

Last time I used iPhone 4 and then migrated to Samsung Note 1 and then Note 3. What made me gave up iPhone 4 was the very small screen, non-removable batt, too iTunes based and buggy home button.

However, since I heard that iPhone 6 will have 4.7 inch screen, I am tempted to use back iPhone again despite that I am using Note 3 and iPhone is likely to have 5.5 inch version as well. This time round it is also slightly different as I am looking forward to use iTunes to purchase MP3 songs. Moreover, I am using iPad mini at home.

Please convince me that I will be taking the right move. Below are my further considerations.

1. Cannot copy & paste. How often do I need to do that if I am purchasing songs and videos from iTunes? Perhaps when I need to transfer photos? iirc, photos can copy & paste?

Correct me if I am wrong, but since i start with 3GS, i NEVER copy and paste any stuffs, like Mac OSX just drag and drop will do. How come you have this thinking it's copy and paste?

2. If I want to plug in my thumbdrive to iPhone to read some MS Office documents, will that be possible?

No, since the first day Steve Jobs intro iPhone (which many people said was his most important and best keynote), he already state very clearly Apple's direction is wireless and cloud. Apple is a funny company, they always comes out with things we don't need but end up we start to seems if we don't use these things one day something is wrong that day; but on the other hand, they are also good at remove things that we think we need but after a while you found that you actually don't really miss them so much like the DVD slot, Well, some how they are good at these 2 points. I actually seldom use thumbdrive nowadays as there are apps Like Dropbox, Google drive etc, one less things to bring around for me.

3. Am I able to wirelessly transfer files to Android phones?

I Don't think so.

4. Is the home button still prone to malfunction?

No more, now they pay a lot of attention and effort to make sure home button is in super good condition as Touch ID totally depends on it, and as mobile payment is one of Apple's most important strategy for their future, they are making sure Touch ID (which use the home buttion) is working as close to prefect as possible.

5. Is the iOS slower than Android because of the slower processor and battery depletes faster since the capacity is smaller?

I feel on this point both are the same ley. ok maybe Apple is a bit slower i guess , but at least at this time it's more powerful than any Andoroid both due to 64 vs 32 bits.

6. Are there other things I should take note?

First, if you have read all the news that Apple just announce, all their hard ware are getting closer and closer, which is what they call ' Continuity" I think. Although OX and iOS are somehow actually 2 different OS but you can doing things (i.e write e-mail) in OSX half way, but need to rush to meet new girl friend for dinner, you can just stop it, and continue that email with you iPad or iPhone while in the cab. I know MS can too but that is because they use the same OS but i feel win 8 don't really suit to be a tablet OS. Anyway what i am trying to say is, the more you get into Apple products nowadays the harder you will want to change to other brand.

Also, Apple always have this advantage over Android is that you always for sure to be able to get the update they release, unless you yoursekf choose not to download.

So, the 4 major of your switch
a) very small screen, well, may not be a problem if what rumous say about iPhone 6 is true;
b) non-removable batt, hmm... sorry but i personally don't feel this is a problem, i mean all their products are non-removeable batt. No offence bit you seems like you like to bring a lot of stuffs out with you (i.e thumbdrive), i though now the trend, no matter which brand, external battery is the more comment trend then change battery after one dry up?
c) too iTunes based: on this point i agree, but i think and it seems quite obvious that their aim is to shift iTune base dependences to iCloud. In fact all the 3 biggest tech: Apple, MS and Google are all going towards this direction. Cause Cloud is one of the most important element in what late Steve Job's call it as post-PC era.
d)buggy home button: I have already share my oint on this so i will not repeat.

My Advice is I actually agree which some bro here that if you want to stick with Android, go for the good and cheap one like xiaomi, my sis is using Redme and she said no different to her S4, beside the price of course. But if you, did die have money and wantt to send it, then I will say iOS. Buy if you want to use iOS, your other devices will be more encourage to be either OSX or iOS then you will enjoy the 'beauty', 'art' and 'science' of why iOS is better than Andorid.

Was on iPhone 4 then iPhone 5 then I got envious of bigger screens and went with Note 3. Can't say I regret moving to Android however I am now wondering if I should switch back to iPhone 6 since it comes with bigger screen.

Its not that I don't like Note 3, just that the 5.7'' screen is kinda larger for me. Unlike ladies who put phones in their purse, my phone goes in my front pants pocket. So when I'm seated, I can barely remove/insert my phone. Minor inconvenience but still. I certainly appreciate the extra screen real estate when web surfing and replying emails.

Anyway, let's talk about OS instead of hardware. I was previous using iOS 6 with my iPhone 5 so I can only compare that with Android.

I find the cut and paste on iOS a lot easier to use. Even till now sometimes I have some problems with the cut and paste on Android. Just not as user friendly. Or idiot proof.

I have only had my iPhone 4 "die" on me twice. On both times I acted smart and tried accessing Yahoo mail via Safari instead of the iPhone app. Other than that no issue. Don't recall any issue on iPhone 5. So far with my Note 3, I have had my default email app go unresponsive on me several times. And my default music player, while still churning music, the screen would not respond i.e. I can't jump tracks.

And I don't hack my phones so I don't know why this occurs. Anyways, still find iOS more stable even though I do admit you can do less things with it. Definitely can't create my own folders and move videos or files around as I would on a PC or on Android.

Obvious advantage of Android is you have many different handsets to choose from. For Apple you are stuck. Take the iPhone or leave it.

funny enough, i went back iPhone cos I wanted a smaller phone, nevermind the screen is small, I seldom play games or watch movie on phone, mainly calls, whatsapp, FB n some email reading

I went from 3GS > HTC Desire HD > Samsung Note > Samsung S2 > Sony Z1 > Samsung S4 > HTC One > iPhone 5

best android phone i used was HTC One. love it but had to sell cos warranty ending soon

After Android came out with kitkat, the butttersmooth experience totally stopped me from another iphone

wanted a big iphone so much since iphone 4s. now i'm satisfied with a cheap and good android phone.

oneplusone, xiaomi3, oppo 7a, 7. all beats iphone hands down for me.

please don't use samsung, htc, lg, sony all those **** money sucking flagship to compare to iphone, i will take iphone anytime.

iphone small screen makes me go android, samsung makes me want to go back to iphone, but the competitve prices with premium hardware makes me stop thinking about iphone unless iphone can slash away 50% of their price.

$500 for a iphone 6, maybe.


you can argue iphone got more apps or what. yeah right, are you going to pay for all those apps? there's just so many!

whereas xiaomi has their own market with tonnes of games FREE. yeah i save and i don't need to keep shelling out cash. if i really like the game, i will donate to thank the developer.

Now I rather buy a used S3, root it, install CM11 than buying a new Note 3 or S4. I haven really go into Xiaomi or Oppo phone but i find oneplusone quite nice looking, might try 1 someday

don't buy used, there are places like qoo10 that have sales for brand new old s3 lte, which cost around the same price than used s3. maybe max $50 more nia. my bro s3 battery bloated, had to replaced for $50+, my sister s3 drop one time screen cracked but still can use, the speaker siao siao, sometimes can sometimes cannot.

i rather u get mi note (only bad thing is the GPS)

back to iphone, i don't really find anything good that can attract me back liao.

and to the guy who posted 2post up, android can transfer files wirelessly.

let's see what apple can offer us this time round.
