Pls recommend a MOBO

I have been planning to buy a rig for some time now and since i have recently gotten my bonus hence finalizing the components to buy. Please help

MOBO -options
Asrock H87M Pro4 (BUNDLE) - 397
Asus H87M-E (BUNDLE) - 412
Asus H87M-PRO (BUNDLE) -459
Gigabyte GA H87M-D3H (BUNDLE) - 427
MSI H87M-G43 (BUNDLE) - 400

Please suggest which mobo to get and what do i get by buying ASUS mobo since they seem to command a premium

Your ram... Get 1600mhz cl9 better (2x4gb) [~80-90]

PSU don't need so high end too, and 550W more than enough. Consider the Seasonic M2II-500w.

B85 mobo lah. H87 unless you got use raid features for multiple hdd.

I was in a similar dilemma this morning. But after reading through the threads, I finally settled for the Asus B85 Plus. It's an ATX motherboard so I can fit my sound card in. ATX allows for better airflow too.

Thanks bro for responding but i may in future use raid hence choose H87. my question is since all the H87 boards ranges from 390 -450 which one to choose and on what merits.

Secondory is it better to use a gold power supply? since the computer is going to be on 24/7

Now the ASUS premium boards hardly come with perpendicular SATA ports already. That's usually the most important for me.

Looks like top 3 are near to my workplace and home....I dont like UBI though...usually very crowded

Besides from the distance (since i am driving) any other factor to make the decision?

Then take MSI loh. Amk techplace less crowd. Yet near to CTE exit AMK ave 1.

Then got huge carpark space some more.

Color can be a deciding factor also.

Asus mostly Gold, high end is red color.
MSI mostly Blue, high end black/red or yellow strips
Asrock all black.
Gigabyte colorful sio. Got green got orange got blue got black got silver got red.

No. Only z87 boards comes with c2 stepping. Why do you need it?

Not really, was reading through some website and that referred to USB3 bug which apparently got fixed in C2 hence asking.

Go for trusted brands like fsp, seasonic, superflower, corsair, selected thermaltake. Go for Bronze will do. Unless you wanna oc and have good efficiency then can he gold/platinum

BTW forgot to add that i am looking at the case from Silvertronic TJ08-e, anyone has this model? any comments?

So if noone has this Case, then any suggestion for mATX case? want a good one so it can last because it is one thing which usually would not require replacement even when upgrading...

How about setting a budget, go download PC themes pricelist, look through those cases within your budget, and watch reviews and unboxings in youtube? That will give a better impression.
